By the time Aria Sterling woke up, it was already pitch black outside, and everything was utterly silent.
She groggily rubbed her head and sat up. As her eyes focused on the room's decor, she remembered this wasn't her own home. The memory of what happened at the restaurant before she got drunk came flooding back.
She climbed out of bed but didn't see Damian Xavier.
She went into the bathroom and filled the tub. After putting on a shower cap, she stepped in, letting her body stretch out as she sank beneath the water.
She soaked for a good while, so groggy she was about to drift off again. Just as she started to get up, she heard the sound of a key turning in the lock outside.
Damian Xavier opened the door and walked straight into Aria Sterling's room, but he didn't see her on the bed.
He froze for a moment, then his gaze immediately shifted to the bathroom. Seeing that its door was closed, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
