The Beast Tide was comprised of all sorts of Spirit Beasts.
Among them were a considerable number of Spirit Beasts at the Semi-Saint Realm.
The reason the Four Great Forces had dispatched their disciples to fight the Spirit Beasts was very simple.
The Nine Heavens and Ten Earths Slaughter Array, jointly set up by the ten Divine Dao Array Martial Artists from the Heaven and Earth Sect, had limited power. It was fundamentally incapable of slaughtering all the Spirit Beasts. If the beasts broke through the Array, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Because of this, almost everyone the Four Great Forces brought to fend off the Beast Tide's invasion would lose their lives within the Array.
The Four Great Forces had not told anyone the truth about this.
Inside the Array, a slaughter was underway. Whether it was a Spirit Beast or a Martial Artist, a life was not a life; people died every minute. The number of corpses on the ground grew, and rivers of blood flowed everywhere.
