Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Tin Mine, Coal Mine, Large Magic Crystal Vein

Besides the pleasant surprise of the agriculture and animal husbandry the Wood Elves had already developed,

the Wood Elves had not forgotten the Oracle their great Elf God had once delivered, instructing them to search for Iron Ore and Magic Resources.

And so, once they had escaped their Clan's existential crisis,

High Priest Xia Mier, the most devout believer in Zhang Yi in the entire Clan, proactively led twenty Natural Elves who had successfully undergone Bloodline Advancement,

on a search throughout the Divine Realm for the Iron Ore and Magic Resources mentioned by the great Elf God.

Finding the Iron Ore resources was a matter of luck.

Lacking specialized knowledge and proper tools,

and given that Low Level Spells were very weak,

the only way to find Iron Ore was to search exposed ground for soil of an unusual color.

Perhaps their luck was good, for they actually found two such areas of strangely colored earth east of the Dawn Forest, in Luqiu Ridge.

After the Wood Elves dug down,

they confirmed that they were, indeed, two mineral resource deposits!

But after comparing the two excavated mineral resources with information from the Main World,

Zhang Yi discovered that one was a tin deposit, and the other was a coal deposit!

Tin has a low melting point and is soft. The smelted metal can be bent easily.

Furthermore, tin's earliest use was in combination with copper to be smelted into bronze artifacts.

Even in the Iron Age, a certain amount of tin was required for forging weapons.

Plating a layer of tin on the surface of an iron Weapon, for example, could effectively reduce corrosion from airborne moisture.

It could be said that tin was indispensable for traditional weapons.

However, tin cannot be made into a Weapon by itself; it can only be integrated into traditional weapons as part of an alloy.

Therefore, discovering a tin deposit alone was of no use to Zhang Yi.

The other discovered mineral resource, coal, had a much wider range of uses.

Coal could not only be used as fuel for smelting metals and minerals, but also for heating, making it an important source of warmth in winter!

If they had discovered this coal deposit before the disaster struck the Divine Realm,

the Wood Elves would never have frozen to death from the cold!

However, Zhang Yi's original hope was to find Iron Ore or copper ore, so they could enter the Bronze and Iron Ages as soon as possible.

Since neither of these were found, Zhang Yi couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.

Of course, this didn't mean there was no Iron Ore or copper ore in Zhang Yi's Divine Realm.

The vast majority of people find that their Divine Realm comes with these two resources when they first awaken it.

However, the difficulty of finding these resources varies from person to person.

In Zhang Yi's Divine Realm, for example,

since no copper or Iron Ore was found on the surface, it was very likely buried deep underground.

In that case, they would have to wait until a Late Stage of development, when their technology was more advanced, to search for it.

Although the search for copper and Iron Ore had been a winding path,

the search for Magic Resources was unexpectedly successful!

Under the leadership of High Priest Shamiel,

all the Natural Elves scattered to various parts of the Divine Realm and cast the same Magic spell.

They noted where the Casting was fast, where it was slow, and where they couldn't cast a spell at all.

This naturally allowed them to determine where the concentration of Magic Particles floating in the air was highest!

And so,

after the Natural Elves had covered the entire Divine Realm, casting their spells in one area after another,

they discovered two places where Casting was the smoothest.

One was in the northwest of the Divine Realm, at the border of the Green Grassland and the River of Nature.

The other was south of the Dawn Forest.

The Natural Elves Casting in these two locations had the fastest speeds, and there wasn't much difference between them.

They could therefore determine with some certainty that Magic Resources must exist in these two locations.

For ease of extraction and to reduce transportation time,

under the command of Elf Queen An Nobel, the final decision was to exploit the Magic Resources south of the Dawn Forest.

Based on the area the Wood Elves were working on at the surface,

it could be preliminarily determined that

this Magic Ore Vein was at least a medium-sized resource deposit.

It wasn't impossible that it was even a large one!

In short, from this newly discovered Magic Crystal Vein, every single excavated Magic Crystal contained enough Magic Power for a Natural Elf to cast a First Level Spell a hundred times!

Even though mining Magic Crystals was extremely difficult, with a dozen or so Wood Elves only able to extract a few crystals per day,

upon hearing the news, Elf Queen An Nobel was resolute in her decision to develop this Magic Crystal Vein!

Afterward, Zhang Yi sent down several Oracles to guide the Wood Elves' development in all sectors.

With the guidance from Zhang Yi's Oracles, the Wood Elves immediately gained a deeper understanding of agriculture and animal husbandry.

They not only raised rabbits and goats, but after consuming the meat, they also made sure to keep their pelts,

intending to make clothes for protection against the cold.

They also began using cattle to plow the fields for the Baobab Trees.

Animal husbandry, agriculture, and mining—every sector was developing vigorously.

Meanwhile, the four Elf squads under Feiyana's leadership were training with great success.

Time flew by in the blink of an eye.

Over twenty days passed in the real world, and the day Zhang Yi and Li Boyang had agreed to hold their god war quickly arrived!

And over these past twenty-some days, Zhang Yi had reaped great rewards.

Not only had the Wood Elves in his Divine Realm provided him with over 500,000 Faith Value during the twenty-plus days that passed in the Main World,

but Zhang Yi didn't hoard this Faith Value either.

Instead, he took 500,000 Faith Value and condensed it into Divinity.

In the end, he created five points of Divinity!

Now, as long as Zhang Yi could gather another five points of Divinity,

he would have the ten points of Divinity needed to advance from a First Transformation Demigod to a Second Transformation Demigod!

At that point, not only would the area of the Zhang Yi Divine Realm expand,

but Zhang Yi would also be able to use more powerful Divine Arts.

In his Divine Art class over the past few days, Zhang Yi had already mastered how to cast the Small Lightning Divine Skill.

Once he advanced to the Second Transformation, Zhang Yi would be able to cast it!

As for the remaining forty-thousand-some Faith Value, Zhang Yi didn't use it. He saved it, preparing to use it during tomorrow's god war with Li Boyang!

The first month of the school year, September, passed.

The next day was the time agreed upon by Zhang Yi and Li Boyang to hold their god war!

Over the past twenty-some days, the news had also

spread from Class Seven of the second years to the other grades.

Many students from other classes, as well as underclassmen, having heard there was a god war to watch today, arrived at school early.

When Zhang Yi and Li Boyang both arrived, many of their classmates gasped in astonishment!
