"Tuantuan is very good. Don't scold her. She didn't stay out of bed on purpose; she just wanted to wait for you to come back," Chu Tiankuo explained on Tuantuan's behalf.
Deng Yuyuan shook her head. "I won't scold her."
In the silent night, Deng Yuyuan once again clearly saw the affection in Chu Tiankuo's eyes. She lowered her eyelashes. The two stood in silence before she finally bid him goodnight and left.
Chu Tiankuo watched her leave. After a long while, a very faint smile appeared on his face.
He wondered if the way to move Deng Yuyuan was indeed to care for and look after her child. Yet, he still felt incredibly resigned. Was there truly not a single thing about him that could attract her?
His tall, handsome figure exuded a lingering sorrow. With reddened eyes, he withdrew his gaze and slipped into the counselor's room, where he should have already been asleep.
Back in her dorm room, Deng Yuyuan gave herself a quick wash and fell asleep holding Tuantuan.
