"I'm sunbathing," Xue Rui said truthfully.
"Why?" Gu Muxue tilted her head back, looking at him quizzically. She was out in the sun for her military training, so why was Xue Rui subjecting himself to this torment?
"With you working so hard during military training, how could I bring myself to relax in the shade?" Xue Rui said with a serious expression.
Gu Muxue was a little moved. His words had a "through thick and thin" kind of feeling to them.
But she didn't actually approve of him suffering for no reason. She sighed and said, "Xiaorui, you should just rest."
Xue Rui frowned, twisting open a bottle of water and handing it to her. "If you get a tan after your training and I'm still pale, when we go out together, people might think I'm your kept man."
Gu Muxue's expression went blank. 'What does Xue Rui mean by that?'
'If she got tanned…'
'Is Xue Rui trying to get a tan so that she'll look paler by comparison?'
