Arjun who hear more about his parents life before his birth was excited when his father started speaking about it but was soon disappointed as soon as father shut up. He wanted to ask more about it but knew his dad would not really speak up once he made the decision.
They then headed to the registrar office where they met up with the dealership manager who helped them get the temporary registration number. Since this was before the new license change came into effect they got a three letter number plate instead of two letter ones like in the future.
They got the registration done very quickly as the manager already had made prior arrangement with the staff at registration office and went back to the dealership to get their car.
Pratap wanted to call for a Priest to do the opening ceremony instead Arjun proposed to drive the car directly to the famous temple in the city and get the ceremony done there which seemed like a nice idea to Pratap too who readily agreed.
The delivery was done promptly with the mechanic guy curtly asking them to fill up the gas tank as soon as possible.
The car was not wrapped in any ribbon packaging as it was not really the norm back then. Not that Arjun minded, he did not want to go outside parading their new car. All he wanted was for his father to be the first one to drive the car as this was something he was never able to do so in his past life.
Pratap had his troubles in getting the car started and running it but quickly got the hang of it. After trying out the sound system with the gift CD the dealership had given them Pratap was in love with it and couldn't stop speaking about it until they reached the famous Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Temple.
Both the father and son loved the ride very much, Even though jeep was spacious the ambassador with all the modifications was way more comfortable and spacious as well.
They got down and hired a priest who was at the temple entrance to do the opening ceremony for the car after which they placed some lemons below the car tires to roll them over as this was a way of gaining good luck for the car.
Once they were done with everything it was already around four in the evening and Pratap proposed to go to the studio Arjun recently founded.
He was curios what Arjun was doing with these college kids and wanted to see for himself. Arjun dictated the route to his dad while praying in his heart that Sumanth managed to clean the place or he might as well say goodbye to his new job, He did not even have the choice to inform him through call either as they were already inside the car and heading there by now.
When they reached the studio warehouse luckily the ware house was much more cleaner than before. Even though there were some dropping here and there, it did not stink like it did in his last visit.
Vinod came to greet Arjun but seeing some adult beside him he stopped in his tracks sniffed for a second before giving a bright smile and coming forward.
Both Arjun and Pratap did not know what to make of this but since Arjun had already informed his dad about this guy he did not feel it was too out of the place and matched his character perfectly.
Meanwhile Vinod first greeted Pratap as big boss and asked if he needed some drinks to which Arjun gave a nod and Vinod hurried to the shop nearby to get them.
Pratap was interested to know how Vinod recognized him to which he got the most typical reply from Vinod who said "I smelled sniff...sniff"
Sumanth was not around so Vinod had to take care of showing his father around the office and introduce other team members to Pratap.
Even though he was sloppy initially he quickly got in his grove and started talking about how they were taking inspiration from the animals and birds to do the drawings and showed him the various monster drawings they were currently satisfied with.
While Pratap was busy observing the new monster drawings Vinod handed Arjun the new cover designs and how to draw designs for five of their most simple monster drawings.
Arjun liked the cover designs a lot, even though it was made of only three colors it had a very artistic feel to it and the drawing steps in the drawing pages too were very detailed which even a kindergarten kid could make sense of as they were just connecting dots.
Once they were done and Pratap was ready to leave they returned back to the hotel to rest for the day where Arjun sneakily slipped outside for a while to do his own stuff.
He did not forget his promise to Sari, even though Car was already a surprise Arjun wanted to gift something unique to his sister now that he was finally into some money.
He wanted to buy the bangles for his mother too but since Pratap was already angry about the car purchase Arjun felt this was not really the time to do so. As for spoiling Sari no body would mind since they wanted to do so too.
Arjun had to search many shops to find what he was looking for. Finally in one of the bigger shops he found what he was looking for.
This bangle was a pink thick bangle made out of imported Acrylic and was very rare to be worn in these days. It looked like any other lac bangles out there with just a little bit more shine and glossiness.
Arjun did not want his sister to roam around wearing bangles made of gold or some other exotic material as it would do more harm to her than good.
Even though this acrylic bangle which was very common in the future costed over twelve hundred rupees Arjun did not pay mind to it and wondered if it would fit her hand or not.
After being assured by the jeweler that returns would be accepted if returned within a week Arjun finally paid for the bangle. He wanted to buy the gold bangle set for his mom too but his promise to Pratap meant he would not be able to do so in the near future.
When he returned to the room and showed Pratap the bangle he bought for Sari, Pratap liked it a lot too until he heard the price after which he was undecided whether to allow Arjun to gift this or not and decided Kavitha to be the final decision maker on this matter.
Pratap was already happy with Arjun, thus far everywhere they went they gave them the utmost respect possible and everyone spoke very amicably to his son who did the same.
He wanted his son to be a social butterfly unlike him and seeing how everyone greeted Arjun as soon as they noticed spoke volumes about his connections in Vijayawada. Pratap felt that his kid might know more people in the town than in Village but that was not of any concern to him.
Seeing how matured Arjun acted among his peers who were much much older than him, Pratap felt he could let Arjun fly a little more and called him to let him know he did not need to take permission from home for every small decision he takes. But for travelling he still needed to get his mom's approval which was much easier said than done. Pratap still did not know how Arjun would convince Kavitha about his trip to Madras and was curios to see what would unfold.
Since they had an appointment at the recruitment agency next day Pratap forced Arjun to go to bed early while he took a walk around the hotel lobby where he was even surprised by all the staff calling him Arjun's dad.
This made his resolve more solid about giving his son more freedom and see where he would go. As for the safety he was sure there were other people who were way more concerned about this than him.
He stood a while beside their new car to admire it now that his son was not nearby to drag him around for chores. This was the first car for their family of four who did not even own a scooter before this.
Pratap did not know what their future would be like but all he hoped was for the four of them to tour as much as they can in this car making it worth it's price tag.
