Louis's tone was calm, as if he were discussing what to have for lunch with Yu Zhizhi.
The little turtle lowered her head, her tail giving a slight wag. "He's never seen me like this. Even if I called out to him, he might not acknowledge me."
Besides, with her current identity, it was best not to draw attention to herself.
Yu Zhizhi had no choice but to remain hidden.
Louis's gaze fell on the small turtle shell. A damp, heavy feeling settled in his heart; there were some emotions he couldn't suppress.
He couldn't ignore the Duke's existence.
Nor could he ignore the Mermaid's.
And he certainly couldn't overlook his other personalities sharing in the little female's sweetness.
Even though he cared desperately, Louis wouldn't show it. He wouldn't let superfluous emotions affect their current relationship.
