Jasper Sherwood left the hospital.
Silas Morgan's car was parked at the hospital entrance.
He got out of the car, dressed in a lustrous suit under a black wool overcoat.
He wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, and his eyes, which resembled Jasper Sherwood's, crinkled with a smile. "Jasper."
Jasper Sherwood didn't particularly want to see him, but it was thanks to Silas Morgan that the Linden family had stopped harassing him.
Still, he walked over and asked, "What are you doing here?"
Silas Morgan chuckled. "I wanted to come see your sister. I didn't expect to run into you, so I figured I'd just wait for you out here."
Silas pulled a pack of cigarettes from his coat, put one between his lips, and offered another to Jasper.
Jasper raised a hand to block it. "I don't smoke."
Silas raised his eyebrows, looking at Jasper's clean-cut face with a hint of gratification. "Good student."
Jasper scoffed. "You waited for me just to offer me a cigarette?"
