Alex had never been particularly bothered by other males approaching and fawning over Gu Ning. Females were far too rare; any adult female was bound to be surrounded by male suitors.
But pursuit was one thing. If another male interfered with Ningning's choices, or worse, crossed the line and interfered with his time with Ningning, he wouldn't be so polite.
This wasn't the first time Barto had crossed the line. For Gu Ning's sake, and because he was a Mixed Breed, Alex could tolerate it and coexist peacefully as long as Barto didn't go too far. But given that fox's personality, they could probably only get along peacefully if he degenerated to Cook's level.
There was only one Cook, and Barto was no Cook. If he didn't knock some sense into that fox, Ningning wouldn't have a moment's peace later.
