On Lunar New Year's Day, Jasper Linden came to the Preston Family home to pay a visit, bringing gifts and red envelopes.
"Happy New Year, Sandy." He tucked a thick red envelope into Sandy's arms and gave her soft, chubby cheeks a gentle pinch.
"Thank you, Uncle Linden," Felix Preston said on Sandy's behalf.
Jasper Linden smiled gently. "You're welcome."
Then, he pulled an even thicker red envelope from his coat pocket and respectfully offered it to Charlotte Shaw.
"Sister-in-law, Happy New Year."
Charlotte Shaw was all ready to accept it, but the unexpected "sister-in-law" from Jasper Linden startled her so much that she pulled her hand back.
"...What did you call me?" Charlotte Shaw stared at him, her mind a bit fuzzy.
Jasper Linden's smile didn't waver. He replied, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, "Sister-in-law."
"S-Sister-in-law?" Charlotte Shaw's expression was blank. She still hadn't processed what that form of address implied.
