"Yeah," Charlotte Shaw nodded, wiping her tears as she stood up from the beanbag chair.
Renee Sinclair was a bit surprised she had agreed so readily. "You're just leaving like that? Aren't you afraid I'll make a move on Felix Preston behind your back?"
Charlotte Shaw looked down at her, a wry smile touching her lips. "I know you don't like him."
"..." Renee Sinclair raised an eyebrow, pursing her lips to suppress a laugh.
"I'm leaving," Charlotte Shaw said, composing herself before turning and walking off the balcony.
Renee Sinclair watched her retreating figure, desperately wanting to say something more but not knowing where to begin.
She watched as Charlotte Shaw walked into the living room, then to the front door, and placed her hand on the doorknob—
"Renee Sinclair."
Charlotte Shaw suddenly turned around, her face filled with worry as she looked at Renee Sinclair.
Renee Sinclair blinked, forcing back the tears that welled in her eyes. "Yes?"
