The car had just crossed into Kyloria when Willow Quincy received a call from Faye Lane.
He stared at the name on the screen for a few seconds before finally answering the call.
"Hello."
Faye Lane: "Mr. Quincy, this is Faye Lane."
Willow Quincy's reaction was cool. "I know. Is there a reason for your sudden call, Captain Lane?"
"Mr. Quincy, aren't you supposed to be recovering in the hospital? How is it that right after you left the police station, you left a body double in your room and disappeared?"
Faye Lane didn't bother beating around the bush, tearing down all his pretenses with her first words.
Willow Quincy froze for a moment, his heart skipping a beat.
"...You're joking, Captain Lane." He forced a smirk, struggling to maintain his composure. "I just went home to take care of some private family matters. I'll be back as soon as I'm done."
