Chapter 13 - Chapter-13

We're halfway through the second beer when I suddenly stand up and flop back onto the bed with a big, dramatic sigh.

"Oof. I think it's hitting me…"

He looks over to me with a eyebrow raised. "You okay?"

I turn my head dramatically, blinking up at him like I'm fighting gravity. "Mmm… I might be drunk," I whisper, barely hiding my grin.

"You've had one bottle." His says but there's a hint of concern in his voice."Are you serious?"

I giggle as I sit on the bed. "Totally serious," I say, dragging my words on purpose. "Everything feels floaty."

He gets up and walks over to the bed, setting his bottle down on the nightstand. "Do you need water?"

I pout. "What I need is for you to sit with me." I pat the spot beside me. "Come on. I'm too tipsy to be left alone with my thoughts."

He hesitates, just for a second, then sits beside me while keeping a little space between us. Of course he does. That's so him.

I stretch and lean over until my shoulder lightly bumps his arm.

"You smell good," I murmur, resting my head against his shoulder like it's the most natural thing in the world.

He stiffens just a little, then clears his throat. "You sure you're okay?"

God, he's so careful. So sweet. I kind of love it. And I kind of want to mess with him. I look up at him with wide eyes. "You're really handsome, you know that?"

He blinks, obviously caught off guard. "You should probably sleep this off."

I bite back a smile and pretend to pout. "Aww, you're no fun. Don't tell me you're scared of drunk me?"

He lets out a soft laugh. "Not scared. Just… trying to be a decent guy."

If only he knew. I'm not drunk. Not even a little. I'm just tipsy on him the way his hazel eyes flicker between mine and my lips, the way his black hair falls perfectly across his forehead, the way he's sitting here, trying so hard not to fall.

I reach out and rest my hand gently on his face. "You don't have to be scared," I whisper. "I trust you." And I do.

Even if he has no idea I'm just a very sober girl who really, really wants to kiss him.

His hazel eyes search mine, cautious, like he's trying to read between the lines of my pretend drunkenness. I keep my expression soft, lips slightly parted heart beating way too fast for someone who's supposed to be tipsy.

"I trust you," I say again, quieter this time. My fingers gently poke his cheek. Not bold just enough to make his breath hitch.

He doesn't pull away.

His jaw tightens a little, and he lets out a slow breath. "You really shouldn't be saying that to me right now."

"Why not?" I ask, tilting my head, locking eyes with him. "Afraid I'll kiss you or something?"

That gets him. His eyes flick down to my lips. And for a moment just a heartbeat he looks like he might.

I lean in slowly, giving him every chance to pull away. He doesn't. So I kiss him. Just a brush of lips soft, cautious, testing. I expect him to freeze. Maybe stop me. But instead… he kisses me back.

Not rough. Not fast. Just firm and warm, like he's been holding this back for too long and is finally letting go. His hand lifts to my jaw gentle and steady, make me look at his eyes.

I melt into him, smiling against his mouth even as we kiss, because I know this isn't just a moment. As I push him down on the bed while I'm above as I sit on his lap. While I lift his shirt as it reveal his abs.

"Wow! I like it." I say as my hands were all over him. As I sild lower and lower he stop my hand. Suddenly he filp me, now I'm under him. I can feel my face all red.

Then he gently let go of my hands, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. "I'll be right back, okay? Don't move."

I hum in response with a wild smile. I watch him walk toward the bathroom, the soft click of the door closing behind him.

I smile to myself, stretching out on the bed. My heart's still racing, lips tingling from that kiss.

So, so worth it.

I sigh and close my eyes, still wrapped in the moment. The scent of him clings to my skin, and everything feels soft and easy. I didn't expect it to feel this good. Or this right.

I was only teasing. Just playing a little game. But now? Now I'm floating for real.

The last thing I hear is the water running and the faint creak of the floor under his footsteps.

Then nothing.
