After Shirley Thorne got back, she went straight to the study to find Ethan Grant and briefly told him what had happened at the nursing home.
Ethan Grant didn't react much at first, but when he heard she had roped in two free laborers, a slight crack appeared in his composure.
'How should I put this?'
'It wasn't like he skimped on the girl's salary—she even got the occasional bonus. So why was she still such a penny-pincher?'
Shirley Thorne, completely unaware she was being silently judged, continued to beam as she recounted her own cleverness.
"Haha, I bet Meredith Rowan will have to pay them out of her own pocket!"
"Then again, maybe not!"
Shirley Thorne tilted her head with a smile and said thoughtfully, "From what I saw, those two idiots do whatever Meredith Rowan says. They probably won't even care about getting paid."
Ethan Grant scoffed, looking up at her. "Do you want them to care?"
"Well..."
