'Leaving is impossible.'
Meredith Rowan had spent so much effort building up her favorability points. Now that they were about to be useful, how could she give up so easily?
'Don't even think about it!'
"Shirley, don't worry. Aunt Rowan enjoys her peace and quiet. I only come out for a short walk every now and then. It's nothing."
She gave a kind smile, patted Shirley Thorne's hand, and said, "I'll just stay in the sanatorium. You can come find me anytime."
'I won't go out, I'll just wait for people to come to me. That should be fine, right!'
Shirley Thorne sniffled and said, "But what if someone sees you?"
Meredith Rowan's smile froze. "Then we can just talk on the phone!"
Shirley Thorne wouldn't let her off the hook. Her eyes still red, she continued, "Then it wouldn't matter whether you're on the island or not. Aunt Rowan, maybe you should just leave after all!"
Meredith Rowan was speechless.
'Why does this brat have to be so quick-witted?'
