Shirley Thorne had, of course, invited other people. And not just one.
While Meredith Rowan and the nurse were staring blankly at each other, Shirley Thorne threw open the villa's main door. "Aunt Rowan, Nurse Lowell, come on in!" she said with a delighted expression.
Nurse Lowell was a nurse from the sanatorium. She had taken care of Meredith Rowan before, so they were quite familiar with each other.
"Miss Thorne, you're looking wonderful."
Nurse Lowell offered the polite compliment, but inside, the little flame of gossip was already flaring up.
'I wonder if Miss Thorne is actually pregnant or not?'
'I'm so curious!'
Meredith Rowan beamed. "Shirley, is it just the three of us today?"
Hearing this, Shirley Thorne sighed internally. 'As expected of the Mistress Mother. She really knows how to get right to the point.'
She broke into a smile. "Oh no, I've also invited three kitchen experts. Hurry and come in!"
