"N-n-n-no... That's not necessary!"
Shirley Thorne stammered, lowered her head, and bolted for the top floor, muttering as she went, "Time to eat, I'm starving!"
Ethan Grant only felt a gust of wind blow past him. The young woman who had been glaring daggers at him just moments before was gone, leaving only the echo of her anxious cries of "I'm starving!" ringing in his ears.
"Ma'am, wait for me!"
Florence Langley was the first to react.
After a moment's surprise, Ethan Grant finally registered what had happened and turned to go upstairs.
'I'm not even wearing my glasses today. What's she so flustered about?'
In the private dining room, Shirley Thorne was still cursing herself.
