The Architect's Message
The cabin became silent.
Ariba stared at the dead laptop screen.
"He knows everything we're doing."
Ryan nodded slowly.
"And he's warning us."
Victor looked outside the window.
"This is psychological warfare."
Suddenly Ariba's phone vibrated.
Unknown number.
She hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Hello?"
A calm deep voice replied.
"Good evening, Ariba."
Her heart froze.
"Who is this?"
The man chuckled softly.
"You've been looking for me."
Ryan whispered,
"Put it on speaker."
Ariba did.
The voice continued.
"I must admit… you are very persistent."
Victor's face darkened.
"The Architect."
The man laughed again.
"Correct."
Ariba spoke firmly.
"Why did you kill my father?"
Silence followed for a moment.
Then the Architect answered calmly.
"Because he was about to destroy everything I built."
Ryan clenched his fists.
"You're a criminal."
The Architect sounded amused.
"History is written by the winners."
Ariba said coldly,
"Then we'll make sure you lose."
The Architect replied with one final sentence.
"Let's see how long you survive."
The call ended.
Outside the cabin, headlights suddenly appeared in the distance.
Vehicles were approaching again.
Victor sighed.
"He already found us."
Ryan looked at Ariba.
"Ready for round two?"
Ariba's eyes were full of determination.
"Always."
