Chapter 10 - Face to Face with Destiny

🌑 Episode 10

The rain had stopped.

But the air still felt heavy — like the world was holding its breath.

Ariba stood alone in the abandoned warehouse the mysterious caller had mentioned.

Darkness surrounded her, except for a single dim light hanging from the ceiling.

Footsteps echoed.

Slow. Calm. Confident.

A man stepped into the light.

Ariba's heart nearly stopped.

It was Mr. Rahman — her father's closest friend… the man she had trusted like family.

"You?" she whispered.

He gave a faint smile.

"I was wondering how long it would take you to find me."

Her hands trembled, but her voice did not.

"You planned it. My father's death. Project Phoenix. Everything."

Mr. Rahman sighed.

"Your father was a genius. But he was going to expose us. The investors. The secrets. We couldn't let that happen."

"Us?" Ariba asked sharply.

"Yes," he replied calmly.

"Ryan worked for me."

The words hit her like a bullet.

"He didn't want you involved," Mr. Rahman continued.

"But feelings make people weak."

Ariba felt a tear roll down her cheek — but she quickly wiped it away.

"No," she said firmly.

"Feelings don't make you weak. Lies do."

Suddenly, the warehouse doors burst open.

Police officers rushed in from all sides.

"Drop your weapon!"

Mr. Rahman tried to reach into his pocket —

but it was too late.

Within seconds, he was on the ground in handcuffs.

As they led him away, he looked back at Ariba.

"You think this is the end?" he smirked.

"There are bigger forces behind this."

Ariba stepped closer, her eyes fearless now.

"Maybe," she said quietly.

"But today, you face justice."

The police lights flashed red and blue across the dark walls.

For the first time in years, Ariba felt something different.

Not anger.

Not revenge.

Freedom.

She walked out of the warehouse as the sun began to rise.

A new beginning.

Her phone buzzed with a message from an unknown number:

"This isn't over."

Ariba stared at the screen… then slowly smiled.

"Maybe not," she whispered.

"But I'm ready."

Because now —

She was no longer afraid.

And this time,

she was ready to face destiny.

The End… Or Maybe Not. 🔥
