Chapter 371 - Holding Back the Dragon Swarm

Translator: AnubisTL

Within Solgorn's dragon eyes, a dense, almost overflowing psionic light was violently flashing and condensing.

Almost simultaneously, Samantha, the Red Dragon on the flank, unleashed a low dragon's roar.

The alchemical runes already engraved upon the red dragon scales covering her body suddenly flared with a blinding light.

Then, a startling sight unfolded—numerous scales detached from her body, circling her form like living beings as they spun at high speed, instantly forming an airtight, glinting storm of blades.

Her thick dragon arm thrust forward, and complex metal claw-sheaths shot out from the tips of her talons. The sharp points now spun with terrifying speed, emitting a piercing shriek like a drill, cutting even the surrounding air into distorted ripples.

Before the physical attacks could even reach him, an invisible yet incredibly dense and dangerous mental shockwave had already struck first, slamming violently against Garos's psychic defenses.

Mind Rend!

Faced with the pincer attack from both sides, Garos didn't even flap his wings to dodge.

His dragon eyes merely constricted slightly. Other than that, the Mind Rend struck an invisible Wall of Sighs, failing to inflict any effective damage upon him.

Just as Solgorn's black-sheened steel claws were about to tear open his chest, Garos violently twisted his massive body. His broad, colossal dragon wing swung out like a giant axe, slicing through the air with a piercing shriek as it struck Solgorn with pinpoint accuracy.

At the same time, his left claw shot up with lightning speed.

The massive, angular claw, its movements so swift they blurred the vision, struck Samantha's rapidly spinning metal talons with pure, unadulterated force.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK—!

The ear-piercing sound of metal twisting and snapping, enough to make one's scalp prickle and teeth ache, erupted in rapid succession.

The alchemical claw guards Samantha had meticulously forged shattered and exploded piece by piece, utterly powerless against the red-iron dragon's absolute strength.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG—!

Simultaneously, the reinforced dragon scales that Samantha had sent swirling around Garos to slice him struck his own scales like a torrential storm. Yet they only sparked a shower of brilliant fire, leaving behind faint white scratches, unable to penetrate his indestructible defense.

Garos remained immovable, the force of his strike on the metal claws unabated.

The unstoppable, terrifying power transmitted through the brief contact, surging violently into Samantha's body.

The red dragon felt an irresistible force surge through her. Her massive body tumbled backward, thrown by the impact in a desperate, undignified roll.

Yet Garos's fierce wing slash struck only empty air.

The moment Samantha was knocked back, the Iron Dragon Solgorn used his diving momentum to roll and pivot sideways, narrowly evading the dragon wing's trajectory by a hair's breadth. He swung around, closing in on Garos's blind spot.

Claws poised and ready, he prepared to strike from behind!

Garos did not turn.

As his dragon qi extended, a heavy helmet covered in menacing ridges and sharp thorn spikes instantly spread from the scales at his neck, encasing his dragon head and leaving only his deep black eyes visible.

Star-Self Appearance granted him a seamless 360-degree field of vision, leaving Solgorn's movements completely exposed.

The next second, a dragon tail armored in layers of thick scales whipped upward in a savage counterstrike.

The attack was so fast it defied perception.

Only when an unbearable agony tore through his flank did Solgorn hear the shrill wail of the tail slicing through the wind and snow.

The Hardened Scales on his body were instantly shattered, leaving a long, horrifyingly deep gouge.

His dragon scales lay in ruins.

Thud!

Almost the exact moment Solgorn took the hit, Garos's body also swayed slightly. As if struck by an invisible whip, a dragon-tail-shaped crack materialized out of thin air on his own body, sending a sharp jolt of pain through his nerves.

Mind Magic: Damage Transfer!

Mind Magic: Pain Sharing!

At the critical moment, Solgorn had converted and transferred a portion of the physical damage, narrowly avoiding the gruesome fate of being slashed open by the tail strike.

Even so, his fierce dive was brutally halted, forcing him to veer upward and breaking his momentum.

Just as Garos was about to press his advantage and capitalize on the opening...

Another crimson figure, wreathed in flames, hurtled toward him in a reckless charge.

It was the red dragon, Cahill.

THUD!!!

With a heavy, dull thud, Garos allowed the wild dragon's body to slam into his chest. He took only a single step back, a few spiderweb-like cracks appearing on his breastplate.

Seizing the moment, he thrust out his massive claw, gripping Cahill's shoulder blade with the precision of iron pincers.

His strength erupted, lifting the young red dragon as easily as one would a chick, before slamming it violently into the ground.

A harsh tearing sound echoed as large patches of scales and flesh were ripped from the red dragon's shoulder.

"Spear of Thunder!"

The blue dragon Heliam's roar tore through the howling blizzard.

He circled in the sky, his wings spread wide to manipulate the weather.

Crackle! Violent arcs of azure lightning materialized out of thin air, leaping and converging like countless enraged electric serpents.

Finally, as the blue dragon slammed his wings downward, the countless arcs of lightning condensed and compressed, solidifying into a colossal spear of thunder. Wreathed in destructive energy, it shot down like a true divine punishment, aimed directly at the immovable Garos below.

The full-power attack of a storm dragon was not to be underestimated.

Even an ordinary young dragon would be severely injured by a direct hit.

Of course, Garos could have probably tanked the hit without much trouble.

But he felt that remaining stationary would appear too arrogant, showing too much contempt for dragonkind.

Without hesitation, he flung aside the struggling red dragon, Cahill, with a single swipe of his claw. Just as the Spear of Thunder was about to materialize, he shifted his position with anticipatory precision.

Swish!

The spear, crackling with terrifying energy, grazed the edge of Garos's scales and struck the empty, frozen earth. It detonated, blasting a charred crater into the ground as arcs of lightning snaked outward.

At the same instant, Red Dragon Samantha and Iron Dragon Solgorn, having regained their footing, unleashed another coordinated assault. Like two hurricanes of contrasting colors, they charged from the left and right.

Meanwhile, directly ahead, the red dragon Cahill—battered, her shoulder bleeding profusely, and her scales shattered across large patches of her body—roared with a frenzied rage. She had entered her Rage State, her body visibly swelling as her aura surged. Ignoring all restraint, she lowered her head and charged again, aiming a savage strike at Garos's relatively vulnerable flank.

The three dragons formed a fleeting triangular encirclement, closing in on Garos as they locked him in a fierce, desperate melee.

With a single thought, Garos summoned two additional arms, formed entirely from condensed dragon qi, which erupted from behind him.

Now four-armed, he unleashed a whirlwind of attacks, each strike carrying immense power and a wind-tearing shriek.
