Lyan
Ruan took me outside, to the middle of the bustling city. I held his hand tight as he maneuvered with grace, avoiding all the screaming demons and the haggling merchants.
" Couldn't you have just teleported us to where they are?" I asked.
I really didn't like the city at night. It had so many demons that you couldn't even breath, much less move without crashing into someone.
" Ashmoder would notice if we did that" He said as he avoided yet another passerby.
" Is it far?" I was beginning to get stressed.
" No, it's right up ahead" Ruan said, pointing to a red mansion up ahead.
The mansion was as big as three houses piled together and was all painted in an awful red color that resembled blood.
" What are they doing there?" I asked, curious as to why dad had abandoned me and run away with a woman.
Deep down I could understand that it was probably out of love and that they'd gone to that house to have some intimate time together without me been in the middle, but that didn't make me any less curious.
" I don't know. That's what you're here for"
" Okay, but you better keep up your side of the deal" I said, glaring at Ruan. I was still pissed that he hadn't told me it would hurt if I skipped on spying on dad.
" It's more of a favor than a deal, but if you want to be sure we can always make a pact" Ruan said, smug as fuck.
I wanted to wipe that smug smile off his face, but couldn't because he was right. I really didn't want to make another pact. It was better to just trust him.
" I trust you" I whispered while the mansion came closer and closer to us.
" That's good" Ruan said as we finally arrived at the door.
" Good luck" He said as he disappeared.
I snorted. Luck was never on my side, but I was definitely going to do my best.
I opened the door slowly, making as little noise as possible, and entered the mansion. The door led to a foyer that had a table in the middle with tea and other refreshments spread out all over it with snacks in between them, such as ham and meat, or what I hoped was ham and meat.
" Goodnight" A tall woman with red eyes and a broad build welcomed me, a perfect and candid smile on her lips. " What can I do for you today?"
I stammered something ininteligible. What was this place? It didn't seem to be a house, that was for sure, it was more like a local offering some kind of services, but what kind? That was up to me to guess.
" What do you recommend?" I asked the woman, who smiled even bigger, as if no one had ever asked her that question and twirled around, her light gown fluttering as she walked.
I followed her out of the foyer and into a waiting room.
" This is our best girl" She said as she gestured to a woman sitting on a nearby couch, all prim and proper except for her low cut dress that let me see half her bust and up to her tights.
I blushed as soon as I saw her. Just what kind of establishment was this?
" Hello" The girl, who couldn't be a day past thirty, said, her blue eyes as big as a doe's. " How can I serve you today?" She asked as she bowed, showing me all of her chest.
I blushed even more as I looked away from her chest and into her black horns, very similar to my father's, and that complimented her black hair.
" Have fun!" The hostess said as she disappeared to greet another guest.
I fidgeted, uncomfortable. I didn't want to be here, but I had to stay until I found dad. As I looked around I noticed several women dressed just like the one in front of me, with companions by their sides and I finally realized where I was. I was in a brothel of some kind. What the fuck was dad doing here? And why had he met up with Els in here?
" My name's Ery" The woman in front of me said as she bowed yet again. " Do you want to sit here" She gestured to the couch" or get a room?"
" I'm not here for that" I blushed.
Ery looked at me confused.
" Then what are you here for?" She asked, curiosity patent in her voice.
" I want to know if there was a couple that came here not that long ago"
" That's possible. We also rent rooms"
Hope ignited in my system. Maybe dad just wanted a room and he wasn't a total womanizer.
" Have you seen a man walk in with a woman with a broken horn?" I asked, giving Els's description because she was the most recognizable one. Not everyone had broken horns after all.
" Oh, her?" Ery asked, her eyes getting slightly bigger. " She did come here with a man not that long ago. They rented a room and a companion and got inside a while ago. Want me to take you there?"
Did she just say they got a companion? Were the having a threesome? I didn't have anything against having multiple partners, I did have three after all, but I really was against getting one from a brothel. All my respect for my dad evaporated instantly. He was a womanizer.
' Give him a chance. There could be an explanation' A voice inside me said. I knew what the girl had said, and I knew that it was very likely the truth, but I still wanted to believe in my dad.
It seemed like I had no other choice but to check it myself.
" Take me there" I said, my voice shaking slightly.
The girl smiled at me and took me to the upper level, where moans and screams could be heard from all around us. I blushed even more. I wanted to get out of there.
" You're so shy!" Ery laughed, her voice reverberating on the walls.
I didn't say anything as she continued guiding me and then stopped right in front of a wooden door.
" Do you want me to check for you?" She asked, concern on her voice.
I smiled at her and picked up some pocket change I always had in my pants to give it to her. It was the least I could do after the way she had treated me. She hadn't asked what I was here for and she had even offered to check for me when I looked uncomfortable. She totally deserved the money.
" For you" I said as I gave her the coins. " I can do it alone"
She looked at me as if she didn't believe me, but just nodded and walked off, glancing one last time at me.
The moment she disappeared behind a corner I took a deep breath and gathered all my courage. Here went nothing.
" Ahhh! Right there!" I heard Els scream the moment I opened the door.
The moans along with the smell of sex and sweat told me all I needed to know. I closed the door as fast as I had opened it and ran away before they could catch me, my whole face burning up.
Mystery solved. They were going out, though why they needed a companion was still beyond me.
I ran down the stairs with my face on fire and ignored Ery as she waved me goodbye, too embarrassed to focus on anything besides getting back to my room.
What had I just seen? I wanted to know who my dad was dating, but not that way, and much less did I want to hear them have sex. I thought they would be kissing or something, not going at it.
I didn't know how I'd be able to look at dad in the face in the future. Just imagining his face brought back the scene I had just listened to, my mind filling in the blanks with smutty scenes.
I crashed into quite a few demons as I tried to make my way back to the castle, crashing against everyone that wouldn't move out of my way, which was basically the whole city.
When I finally reached the opened main gate, no doubt opened by Ruan so that I could get back, I ran inside, the wall closing back up the moment I stepped foot on the inside.
Inside, sitting on the floor with his legs crossed over was Ruan, his whole clothes covered in black blood, but looking at me with concern, not at himself.
" Are you okay?" I asked as soon as I regained my breath and managed to walk up to him with heavy breaths.
" Yes, why do you ask?" He saw where my eyes were going to, the blood all over his clothes, and he laughed. " Don't worry, I'm okay, and your guys are also fine"
I breathed a sigh of relief and tears started streaming down my face. I touched them and picked them up with care. I hadn't noticed I was that worried about them, but the moment Ruan had told me they were fine all the stress and fear had come out, turning me into a mess.
" Are you okay?" Ruan got up and was by my side in a second, looking at me with a concerned face.
" I'm fine" I said as I wiped away my tears. " More importantly, don't you want to know what I learned?"
The moment I said that his eyes gleamed and he looked at me expectantly.
" What did you see?" He asked in a dark tone.
" I'm sorry" Was all I said, patting his shoulder.
I heard him clench his teeth and close his eyes and fists as his whole body shivered with anger.
When he opened back his eyes he looked at me with hatred in them, so much hatred that I shuddered in fear, and spoke in a soft, low voice.
" What exactly did you see?" He asked.
" I saw dad making out with Els and another woman" I admitted. I owed Ruan the truth.
" You just saw them making out?" He asked, hope in his tone. It has his hope that they had just been fooling around that broke me. I didn't want to say what I had seen, but I had to. I couldn't let Ruan keep his hopes high up when I knew he didn't stand a chance.
" They were having sex Ruan, that's what I meant by making out" I said in a soft tone, not wanting to upset him even more.
" Aggghhh!!! " Ruan screamed and the whole hallway came crashing down.
The walls cracked from where Ruan was standing, the cracks spreading all over the corridor. The ceiling began bending downwards as the broken pillars couldn't sustain the structure anymore.
I looked at Ruan with utter fear in my eyes, we were all going to die if he didn't keep his shit together, and shook him as hard as I could, trying to get him back.
I didn't manage to do anything. The whole wing collapsed from the pressure, broken black marble everywhere. Only Ruan and I were left standing in the middle of the chaos, untouched thanks to the barrier that Ruan had created in the last second, thank God for that.
" Are you okay?" I asked cautiously as I moved slightly away from Ruan, afraid he could explode again.
" What makes you think I'm not?" Ruan asked, a derranged and sad smile on his face.
" Nothing!" I lied.
" You said you wanted to escape, didn't you?"
The smile in Ruan's face gave me the creeps but I nodded, even though I had no idea why he had suddenly asked that.
" Then let's go" Was all Ruan said as we appeared in the middle of a forest.
" Where are we?" I asked as I looked around confused.
We were in the middle of the forest I had tried to run to not that long ago, where all the vegetation was weird and nothing except the green tones resembled a forest back on earth.
" In the breach" Ruan smiled maniacally as he pointed to the sky, where a giant mist was covering the moon and the night sky.
" Is that the breach?" I asked. I had finally done it. I was going home, and it hadn't even been that hard.
" It is " Ruan said as he kneeled down. " Now use me as support and get out of here " He said in en emotionless voice.
I took a step forward before I realized I had forgotten something very important back at the castle.
" My guys!" I screamed, taking a step back.
Ruan looked at me confused, still kneeling and waiting for me.
" We have to go back"
" Why?" Ruan asked with a frown on his eyebrows.
" Remember the guys I told you to save?"
" The humans?"
" Yes. They must come with me"
" What?!" Ruan greeted his teeth.
" Let's get them and then we can escape"
Ruan got up looking pissed as fuck and glared at me before he sighed and teleported us back to my room.
" I'll take you all back during tomorrow's trial. I'll make them disappear and then I'll come to your room with them and I'll take you all back to the breach" Ruan said, his plan apparently flawless.
" Won't anyone notice they aren't there?"
" I'll tell them they died." Ruan said, an angry expression on his face. " Do you want to go back to earth or not?"
" Yes!" I said before he changed his mind. Right now Ruan seemed really unstable, and I wasn't stupid enough to think he was just helping me right now out of good will. True, he had told me he would help me and we'd made a pact, but that didn't force him to help me right now. He could've stalled just as he had done today, so I was sure that he had his reasons to help me and I had a very good idea of what they were, but I wanted to be sure.
" Are you helping us because you want to piss off dad?" I asked.
" So what if I am?" Ruan's smile made me shudder in fear. He was definitely pissed.
" Nothing. I just wanted to be sure" I said, shrugging.
Ruan looked at me one last time and then turned around.
" I'll behave tomorrow and get you out, but after I can't promise you I won't try to kill your dad" He said, his voice as dark as dark could be.
" Why are you telling me this?" I didn't get why he was telling me his plans when I wouldn't even be around to see them happen. The plan was to be long gone by then.
" Just thought you should know" He said as he vanished, leaving me alone in my room.
I jumped up and down a little bit, I was so happy!, we would finally escape, as soon as Ruan was gone. The excitement of finally finding a way out escaping from me.
I wasn't even a little bit worried about my dad. I knew Ruan was scary and powerful, but dad wasn't the demon King for nothing. I was sure that even if they were to fight with all they had dad would win. At most Ruan would manage to hit him a few times, which if I was being honest, I thought dad deserved. He may not have known Ruan liked him, but it was almost impossible to miss all the clues, and someone should punish him for been a womanizer.
I laid in my bed the happiest I had ever been since I had arrived at Jinasia. My guys were finally with me and near my grasp and by tomorrow I'd be back at home, where I'd get the gem and revive my family. Then we would all be one big happy family.
I went to sleep thinking about how well we'd all get along, not noticing the shadow by my closet that was looking at me with angry eyes.
