In a humongous city with sprawling life there was a giant landmass on top of it. It almost covered the entire city yet the city still had light. It was not covered in darkness.
On top of the floating landmass was an academy so big it could only be described as astronomical.
This was Aethernum Arcanum the no. 1 magic academy in falovia present in the continent of draconia.
Aethernum Arcanum was a neutral entity that was first made in the year 1500 B.E ofcourse 6000 years have passed after that era now it was the year 2300 A.E
Aethernum Arcanum produced many brilliant talents and mages they did not only focus on combat but also other jobs that required skill in magic like artificers scholars tacticians even more.
This prestigious academy accepted all those who joined who had talent yet...it was predominantly occupied by children from noble families from different continents or other kingdoms.
"This ofcourse was to be expected how could commoners beat nobles?"
A boy thought as he closed his book he was in a carriage that was flying with the help of wraiths atleast the horse subspecies of wraiths the horses were skeletons of horses and were covered in black clothes domestication of this species was quite hard but still they were the fastest and cheapest flying magical beast.
As the carriage flew into the heart of the city known as rivergale the air rippled as a portal opened into a bridge that lead into the academy.
While the academy may seem like it was kn top of river gale in reality it was simply a ploy to hide it's actual location no one knows where aethernum is actually located at.
The boy kept the book in his many breifcases and looked outside
The air flowed through his red hair and he could feel how dense magic was in the area.
The academy itself was humongous atleast the main building from what he heard the academy had a quite open layout with many hostels scattered around and a small town in the centre ran by students and other people.
Aethernum Arcanum by itself was a city ran by students it was almost like a simulation of a city.
The carriage stopped a few hundred metres away from the entrance a dwarf who was driving the carriage slid the door and looked at the young master.
"Young master I cannot move further the magic in the air is incredibly dense and the horses will get scared and only you're acceptance letter can let you go through."
The noble boy whose name is Firebrand Will from the noble family firebrand.
He fixed his hair with a comb and got out using common magic he willed the suitcases to follow him he used his comb to channel the magic to make the process more refined befitting of a noble.
Blue energy surrounded the breifcases as the began floating behind him.
The road was made from gravel and the surroundings had many firn trees.
And further away a giant gate which was made of marble was their many intricate ruins were inscribed on it.
"Tch..I'm from the firebrand family yet they can't make exceptions huh? Well what did I expect from the aethernum"
He said to himself and continued walking he was a fourth emissio who had two unique magics.
In falovia everyone was born with magic yet their first emissio is awakened when they were three.
Then through training or insight on magic they can progress towards their second emissio.
What is an emissio? It simply allows magic to flow through a person more strongly and more densely it also increases the persons magic pool exponentially the difference between a first emissio and a second would be a difference between a bee and a wolf.
There are ten emissios in total that first five emissios are the most common emissios among people then from their the change in a person is exponentially higher.
It is a qualitative change and a quantative decrease.
Seventh emissio are the top of the top.
Eight emissio are for legends.
Ninth emissio are people of myth.
And tenth emissio is only a speculated probability
But for the first four emissio the first emissio unlocks the persons blood vessels to contain and channel magic. Second their nerves third their organs and fourth their muscle tissue making it the stage where mages get incredible strength and speed.
But magic is quite uncontrollable most mages require wands and staffs to use it properly it's not that they can't use it without conduits it's just it won't be refined.
Will walked towards the grand gates of arcanum and walked through the blue wall his letter that was on him disintegrated in his coat pocket.
This was normal it was a defense mechanism in the academy to not let anyone who was not a student or staff through the wall and to leave the academy the person would need to get a letter from the office.
"Huh..I must be the first person here..."
Will looked around and saw the floating board that showed how much longer he would need to wait it showed three hours.
"Geez..i told my parents they should send me a bit more late it's not like I will disintegrate if I slept for a hour more...i woke up at five to just come here."
Will mumbled he was a genius in his family foruth emissio at 18 most people would only reach that stage when they were 26 some don't even reach this stage their entire life ! yet he reached it already his two unique magic was soul flame and divine flame.
Through fitting the child of the firebrand family.
Common magic is just ordinary magic that everyone has it includes all elements that exist in nature and all telepathic powers.
Unique magic were called unique because only one person in the entire world will have that magic.
But this does not mean unique magic does not appear twice in an era when a person with unique magic dies that magic can go to a different person and be awakened by him.
It is because for every unique magic there is a god tied to it.
Will was bored so he sat down at one of the benches and stopped using magic to float the breifcases.
He looked at the academy building in the distance
It was magnificent beautiful he thought looking at one of the windows he spotted something a person...
"Huh..he looks as old as me..and he is already in uniform..and why are his eyes like that?"
Will thought the person in the window has brown hair and dark brown lifeless eyes..the person was also quite built and already had aethernum Arcanum uniform for first years which was a dark green long coat that had beautiful embroidery though his uniform looked modified as he had fur on his coat
The boy in the window glanced at will and left.
"Who was that!? Like how is he already in there?"
Will thought it was not that he was suprised it was just that persons eyes just creeped him out they were so lifeless.
Will looked at the entrance and saw more people coming in
"Well atleast i won't be alone now..ah is that the daughter of the heckle family? I should probably go talk with her."
