The evening sky was fully dark by the time Leo and Jake headed back to the apartment.

Jake was still buzzing, walking fast next to Leo, almost bouncing with energy.

"Boss, that was insane! You just walked in there and owned Marty like it was nothing. Dude was sweating so much I thought he'd melt through the floor."

Leo kept his eyes forward, his expression calm.

"It wasn't about owning him. It was about control."

"Control of a laundromat," Jake joked. "Our empire starts with clean clothes. I can already see the headline: Local Billionaire Used to Wash Socks. Weird Flex, But Okay."

Leo let out a nearly silent breath of a laugh.

Jake really was good at lightening the mood.

[DING!]

[Current Team Status]

[Jake Miller — Loyalty: 75%]

[Marty — Laundromat Manager — Loyalty: 55%]

[Host has established his first hidden operation base.]

As they stepped into the small apartment, Leo immediately went to his folding table, turned on his old laptop, and pulled up public records for the Morgan Group.

Jake leaned over his shoulder, squinting at the messy charts and numbers.

"Whoa… that's a lot of boring words. Is this the enemy's secret evil plan?"

"It's their weakness," Leo said quietly.

He pointed to the screen.

"Morgan Group is pouring every dollar they have into their new luxury mall project. They're overstretched. Overconfident. They ignore small, steady income places like laundromats."

Jake nodded slowly, starting to understand.

"So… Sunshine Wash is nothing to them. But to us, it's a knife against their throat."

"Exactly," Leo said.

He pulled up the laundromat's rough profit structure, calculating quickly.

Fix the machines → raise customer satisfaction → increase income → show a steady profit.

Once it was profitable…

Leo would use it as proof that Morgan's management was incompetent.

Then he would take bigger targets.

[DING!]

[New Mission Updated]

[Mission: Turn Sunshine Wash profitable within 10 days.]

[Reward: $50,000 operating fund.]

[Unlock: Basic Business Management System]

[Penalty for Failure: Loss of the laundromat base. System energy temporarily reduced.]

Leo closed his eyes for a second.

10 days.

Tight, but possible.

Jake suddenly sat up straight, like he'd just remembered the most important thing in the world.

"Boss! Wait a second! What about the ex-girlfriend and the rich jerk? Are we just gonna let them walk all over you?"

Leo's fingers stilled on the keyboard.

In his mind, he saw Mia's cold, disgusted face.

He heard Derek's mocking laugh.

A flicker of pain crossed his eyes — so fast Jake almost missed it.

His voice turned ice-cold, so quiet Jake had to lean in to hear it.

"We're not letting them do anything," Leo said.

"They already made their move. Now… we make ours."

He looked up, his eyes dark and sharp.

"But we don't rush. We don't yell. We don't fight like animals."

A faint, cold smile appeared.

"We fight like people who own the world."

Jake shivered, but in a good way.

"...I'm starting to feel like I'm in a really cool movie. Except the hero doesn't cry. He just… takes over everything."

Leo turned back to the screen.

"First, we fix the laundromat. Then we take their reputation. Then their money. Then their empire."

Every word was calm.

Every word was final.

A few miles away, in a luxury high-rise apartment in Manhattan.

Mia sat on a velvet sofa, sipping expensive wine, scrolling through social media.

Derek came up behind her, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"Still thinking about that loser?" he teased.

Mia immediately shook her head, forcing a smile.

"Of course not. Why would I?"

But for a split second, her finger hesitated on the screen.

Somewhere deep inside her, a tiny, uncomfortable feeling appeared.

She quickly pushed it down.

Leo was nothing.

A nobody.

A forgotten memory.

That was what she told herself.

Back in Leo's tiny apartment.

Leo closed his laptop and stood up.

"Tomorrow, we start repairing the machines. You buy the parts with the cash we have."

Jake saluted dramatically.

"On it, Boss! I'll get those parts faster than Derek can buy fancy cars!"

Leo looked out the window at the sleeping city.

Rain had stopped.

The sky was clear.

And somewhere in the dark, an empire was being born.

[DING!]

[Host's mental state: Unshakable.]

[The countdown to the first counterattack has begun.]
