The next morning, she went to her place and packed her things. She then went to her parent's house. Her parents and two siblings were having breakfast when she arrived. She she joined them for breakfast. She was starving since she forgot to eat last night.
After breakfast, she told her parents she wanted to talk to them. So after breakfast the couple went to their room with their eldest daughter to converse with her.
"I'm travelling." She blunted out. "What! No! I will not allow you to leave." Her mother firmly stated. "Mom I've already made up my mind." "So when are you going?" Her father, Mr Gabriel asked. "Dear what kind of question are you asking her? Are you supporting our daughter to leave us? I will never allow that." Mrs Isabel, Stephanie's mother hissed. "You know how our daughter never changes her mind when she makes a decision on something. Mr. Gabriel said. He looked at his daughter for a reply. "T...today." She answered shortly. "No, you can't do that. Gabriel talk some sense into her head." Mrs Isabel told but the man didn't say anything. "And when are you going to be back? The man asked again. "Actually I am going to spend a lot of time there." "How long?"Her father asked. "Maybe ermm...five to seven years." At her words her mother got so pissed that she stood up from the bed and walked out of the room. "Come here." Her father instructed. Stephenie sat on the bed beside her father. "Is there something bothering you." The man asked. Seeing the sincerity in the man's eyes she felt even more guilty. She didn't want that deep sincerity to turn into disappoint after he knows she has let them down. "No dad, everything is fine. She answered. "You know someone can't suddenly decide to leave their home if nothing happened. He said. "Dad, I can assure you that everything is fine. It's just that I want to go abroad and make a better life there. The money I earn here isn't enough to feed and cater for the five of us." Stephenie lied. "But honey your mother and I are trying our best." He sighed. "If you want to go atleast just stay for a few days and think things over. Even if you don't change your mind, we will still have time to say goodbye. The father suggested. "Dad I don't want to change my mind. I am really going today and now." The man sighed at his daughter's stubbornness and said, "You can come back as soon as you change your mind." Stephenie forced a smile and gave him a tight hug.
When they came out of the room,her siblings were sitting beside their mother consoling her. She walked up to her mother and knelt before her. "Mom I am doing this for all of us. Please understand me. The fact that I will stay for a long time doesn't mean I won't come back. And besides I will be in touch with you guys from time to time." She said trying to convince her mother and calm her down. Mrs Isabel didn't want to hear anything from her daughter concerning her leaving so she stood up and went back to her room. Stephanie took a deep breath and looked her father. The man gave her a reassuring smile. "Sis please don't go." Her younger sister pleaded. She hugged her sister from the side."Everything is done. I promise to call you from time to time." Stephenie spent about half an hour saying goodbye to her family including her mother outside her door. Only God knew how she was breaking on the inside while leaving her family.
In another country, Andrew could be seen sleeping heartedly on a king-sized bed in a luxurious apartment. He suddenly jolted up awake as if he had a really bed dream. The first thing he did was look at the time and when he saw it was eleven in the morning, he panicked. He took his phone and called Stephanie's number but her phone was off. He gave up after several tries. It was then that he gained the eyes to look around his surroundings. 'Did he get drank and sleep at a hotel? He was supposed to go and see Stephenie. What happened? The girl's phone was even off.' He thought to himself and sighed. He bought clothes online not knowing his clothes were already picked in the closet. He went to the bathroom and took a quick shower. After that he went to the closet to see if he could get a bathrobe but to his surprise all his things were arranged perfectly in the closet. "What is going on?" He asked himself. He wore a plain white t-shirt and shorts and went towards the bed. He took his phone and called his assistant for an explanation of what was going on. When the assistant answered, he politely told him that his parent said he should call them when he wakes up so he did that.
His parents told him that they had sent him abroad to live with Claudia under the same roof so that he will learn how to love the girl and forget about that poor dirty whore (Stephenie). They also told him not to waste his strength on trying to come back because they have blocked all the means for him to come back to the country.
Of course the news didn't sit well with the young man. He became very angry that he threw his phone to the wall and broke it.
About thirty minutes of sitting on the bed trying to calm himself, Claudia, the girl who was sitting in the car with Mrs. Kate earlier walked into the room with a maid carrying her luggage. She instructed the maid to put the luggage down and leave. The maid quickly complied. She catwalk to the man while saying, "Hello my darling, have you missed..." Before she could sit too close to the man, Andrew pushed her away making her fall off the bed. He look at Claudia with disgust, stood up from the bed and walk out of the room to only God knows where.
Since Stephenie travelled with a working visa, she was provided with an apartment which the company took care of. It was small yet comfortable. It was even more comfortable than her previous apartment. She arranged her all her things and went to the kitchen to prepare something to eat. She bought some groceries on her way there so she just took them and went to the kitchen to prepare a simple meal. Since she was pregnant, her taste for food has changed. She ate the food while it was hotly served. After that she called the company she was going to work using the telephone and she was told to come the next day. So the next day Stephanie went to the company, early in the morning. All she needed was an identification card to show she was a legal and an official worker of Zoolab company. The company dealt with animals, and system. Because she went early in the morning, everything was finished faster and the manager told her she could start working as the receptionist.
When it was lunch time, she went to the cafeteria to wat something. While eating, a man came and sat opportunity her at the same table. "Hello". He greeted. Stephanie rise her head at him and responded. "Hi." "Please, can I sit here?" He asked. "You have already made yourself comfortable." "My bad, I'm Fulbeth, and you?" "I'm Stephanie." "Wow, my sister is also called Stephen." "Oh...That's good... hmmm. Aren't you going to eat anything?" "Yeah, my food is on the way. So... I can see that you are new here yeah, I just came this morning." Then I guess you don't have any friends." "Nah... and I'm not thinking of having any." "That is bad cause I thought of being your friend." "Sorry." Stephenie forced a smile. "No problem. We will be meeting frequently since we work in the same company. So where is your work station?" "Do you have to know?" "Yeah if I want someone to become my friend then i have to know where to find her." Fulbeth explained. "Then you have to ask for where I stay instead." Stephanie pointed. "I will be happy if you tell me that's one too." Stephanie giggled for the first time since their entire conversation. "Okay, I work as the receptionist but as for where I stay. I am definitely not telling you. Ouch, that's hurts but what you've told me is enough for now." "Your food has not arrived yet." Maybe there is something wrong. I will go and check. Nice meeting you my beautiful lily. He said and with that, stood up and left. Hearing him call her Lily, the smile on her face quickly disappeared and placed with a deep frown. When she got her senses back to the present, she noticed that some women were giving her weird eyes. Did I do something forbidden? She thought to herself. Anyways, she didn't want to ask. She was new there, she didn't want them to see her as someone negative. She walked to her work station and started to work. After some time her co-worker came and ask, "Have you heard that the CEO spoke to a woman in the cafeteria today?" No, and do I have to know? Stephanie asked. The girl raised eyebrow at her colleague for a second before you said, "Youbare new here so it's not surprising. Let me tell you." "What do you mean?" Stephenie questioned "You need to know so that you don't face anything trouble in the future, okay? So the CEO of this company, he is a woman hater, so in no way should you cross his path, not even by accident. Never ever in your life have an eye contact with him, don't ever go.to his office, not even if it's alive or death or you will end up dying yourself. And the most important thing never talk back at him." Her colleague explained. "Okay, I will keep all that in mind." Good. I have to go. I came here to talk but it seems you don't even know anything. She picked up a file and left.
In the evening, Stephanie was walking to the bus station when a private car stopped beside her, that window rolled down and it was Fulbeth. "Hey Steph." Stephanie turned to him and raised his brow. "Are you stalking?" Stephenie asked. "This road is my way home." Fulbeth defended. "Ok... then good nights." she wished and began to walk away. "Hey." He drove the car ahead of her when Stephanie started to walk away. "Let me drop you off." He offered but the girl declined with a thanks, but no thank you reply. "Don't be hard, it's just a ride. Its won't bite you. I am going to the bus station, which is not very far from here so I will walk." "Even if you want to walk a feet from here. I want to take you... now get in." Fulbeth said and Stephanie took in a deep breath before entering the car for him to drive away. Stephanie ended up being driven to her apartment. "You are now happy and satisfied to know my place." Stephanie cooed. "Very happy and satisfied. I have taking one step in becoming your friend. He said with a satisfied smile. Stephanie, shook her head at what he said? "Ok, whatever good night." "Yeah good night sleep tight. See you tomorrow."
