Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Chamber of Tides

The silver glow of the Moon Relic slowly faded as Liora held it close. The palace of Aqualis felt different now, almost alive, as if it recognized its new guardians.

Selene floated beside her, staring at the crescent crystal. "So… you just picked up a magical moon battery and now the whole palace likes us?"

Liora laughed softly. "Something like that."

But Riven was watching the walls carefully.

"Not just the palace," he said. "The relic is waking things up."

As if on cue, a low rumble rolled through the palace halls. Sand lifted from the floor and drifted through the water.

A section of the stone wall slowly slid open with a deep grinding sound.

Behind it was a hidden staircase leading downward.

Kael raised his trident, its light cutting through the dim water. "Looks like the palace wants to show us something."

Selene grinned. "Secret stairs in an ancient underwater palace? Yeah, we're definitely going down there."

They followed the staircase deeper beneath the palace until it opened into a massive circular chamber.

The Chamber of Tides.

Tall pillars carved with symbols of the moon and ocean surrounded the room. In the center was a wide platform with glowing rings etched into the floor.

"This… looks important," Selene whispered.

Riven studied the symbols on the pillars. "It's a training chamber. The ancient guardians used this place to master their powers."

Kael stepped onto the platform.

Instantly the glowing rings lit up, spinning slowly around the room.

Water began swirling upward, forming moving shapes of waves, whirlpools, and powerful currents.

"It's testing us," Kael said.

Selene cracked her fingers again. "Alright, round two with the ocean."

The water suddenly rushed toward them.

Kael spun his trident, guiding the current aside with a strong wave of his own power. Selene created spinning whirlpools to redirect the rushing water away from Liora.

But then the chamber grew darker.

The currents turned violent.

A massive wave rose above the platform like a towering wall.

"Liora!" Riven shouted.

Liora held the Moon Relic tightly. Fear flickered in her chest, but she remembered the vision of the ancient guardians.

She lifted the relic toward the swirling water.

The crescent crystal blazed with silver light.

Moonlight spread through the chamber like glowing threads, calming the raging water. The massive wave slowly lowered, transforming into smooth flowing currents.

The chamber became peaceful again.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Selene finally broke the silence.

"Okay… that was AWESOME."

Kael looked at Liora with quiet respect. "You're stronger than you think."

Riven nodded. "The Moon Relic amplifies your connection to the tides. You're becoming the true Moon Guardian."

But far beyond the palace, deep in the cold trenches of the ocean floor, Neroth watched through shadows.

His red eyes glowed brighter.

"You grow stronger," he hissed.

Around him, a massive shape stirred in the darkness.

Huge fins moved slowly.

Rows of teeth flashed in the black water.

"Aqualis will fall again… and this time, the Leviathan will finish what I started."

The giant creature opened one glowing eye.

Back in the palace, the young guardians had no idea what was rising from the deep.

But the ocean was beginning to tremble.
