Chapter 9 - The Crimson Awakening

The training hall was silent.

Kabir, Sana, and Dev all stared at Aadhya.

She was still holding her shoulder where the serpent mark burned moments ago.

"Someone else just woke up."

Her words echoed in the room.

Kabir frowned.

"What does that even mean?"

Before Aadhya could answer, the loudspeaker crackled.

"Training session suspended. All recruits remain where you are."

Director Meera's voice sounded sharper than usual.

Dev immediately noticed.

"That doesn't sound good."

Sana crossed her arms.

"Something happened."

Aadhya slowly stood up.

The strange pulse she felt earlier was fading now, but the feeling remained in the back of her mind.

Like a distant heartbeat.

Up in the control room, tension filled the air.

Multiple screens flashed with data.

Energy readings.

Satellite maps.

Ancient symbols.

Agent Arjun stood beside the main console while technicians worked quickly.

"Run the scan again," he said.

A technician nodded nervously.

"We already did. The signal is stable."

Director Meera stared at the holographic map.

A bright crimson point glowed in the northern mountains.

"Magnitude?" she asked.

"Level Seven."

The room fell silent.

Arjun slowly exhaled.

"That's impossible."

Meera didn't look away from the map.

"No," she said quietly.

"It's inevitable."

Thousands of kilometers away…

Snowstorms raged across the peaks of the Himalayas.

Hidden among the mountains stood a massive fortress carved into black stone.

Ancient banners hung along its walls.

Each one carried the same symbol:

A dragon surrounded by flames.

Inside the fortress, warriors in dark armor moved through long stone corridors.

Every one of them carried weapons.

Every one of them looked tense.

Because something had just happened.

Deep within the fortress…

A massive chamber glowed with crimson light.

In the center of the room stood a tall young man.

Rudra.

The crimson mark on his chest burned like fire.

Energy pulsed around him in waves.

Cracks had formed across the stone floor beneath his feet.

An older warrior stepped forward carefully.

"Lord Rudra…"

Rudra slowly opened his eyes.

They glowed bright red.

"The signal," he said calmly.

"I felt it."

The warrior nodded.

"Our scouts confirmed it."

Rudra's expression didn't change.

"The Serpent Bloodline."

The words carried quiet anger.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Then another warrior asked cautiously,

"What are your orders?"

Rudra walked toward the massive window overlooking the snowy mountains.

"The world has been quiet for too long."

He looked down at the glowing crimson mark.

"For centuries, the Dragon Bloodline waited."

The warriors behind him lowered their heads.

Rudra continued quietly.

"And now our ancient enemy has returned."

He turned toward them.

"The Serpent Queen."

The name echoed through the chamber.

One of the warriors spoke carefully.

"The Directorate will protect her."

Rudra smiled faintly.

"They always do."

He walked toward a stone table in the center of the room.

Several ancient maps were spread across it.

His finger stopped on one location.

Delhi.

"The hunters will go first."

The warriors stiffened.

Because everyone in that room knew what that meant.

The Dragon Bloodline's hunters were legendary.

Silent.

Fast.

Deadly.

Rudra spoke one final command.

"Find the girl."

His crimson eyes burned like fire.

"And bring me proof that the Serpent Bloodline truly lives."

Back in the Directorate facility…

Director Meera turned off the holographic display.

Arjun leaned against the console.

"So it's confirmed."

"Yes."

Arjun crossed his arms.

"Dragon Bloodline?"

Meera nodded slowly.

"The energy signature matches the ancient records."

Arjun sighed.

"That's bad."

"Very."

He looked toward the training hall below.

"Aadhya isn't ready for this."

Meera remained silent for a moment.

Then she said something surprising.

"She doesn't need to be ready."

Arjun frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Meera looked back at the glowing map.

"Because if the Dragon Bloodline has awakened…"

Her voice turned serious.

"…then the war between the bloodlines has already begun."

Down in the training hall…

Aadhya sat quietly on the floor.

Kabir dropped beside her.

"So," he said casually, "first day here and the alarms are already going crazy."

Aadhya managed a small smile.

"Yeah. Great timing."

Sana looked toward the ceiling.

"Something big is happening upstairs."

Dev added,

"And I'm pretty sure it has something to do with you."

Aadhya sighed.

"That's what I'm afraid of."

Just then, the training hall doors opened.

Agent Arjun walked in.

His expression was serious.

"That's enough training for today."

Kabir raised an eyebrow.

"That bad?"

Arjun looked directly at Aadhya.

"Things just got complicated."

Aadhya slowly stood up.

"What happened?"

Arjun hesitated.

Then he gave a simple answer.

"Your enemy just woke up."

Silence filled the room.

Aadhya's serpent mark pulsed once again.

And somewhere far away in the frozen mountains…

Rudra's crimson mark burned in response.

Two ancient bloodlines.

Both awakened.

Both moving toward the same inevitable destiny.

War.
