Vince fled the mansion, but Zara and Kairos tracked him to the school's old gymnasium—where Miguel had trained. Inside, the lights were on, and Vince was tied to a wrestling mat, screaming as thousands of cockroaches crawled over his body.
The oni figure stood over him, axe resting on its shoulder. "You liked making Miguel afraid," Nora said, her voice clear now. "Now you know how it feels."
"Please!" Vince begged. "We didn't mean to kill him! It was an accident!"
"Accident?" Nora laughed—a cold, empty sound. "You pushed him. You broke his things. You made his life a living hell. That's not an accident—that's murder."
She raised the axe, but Zara burst through the door. "Stop! I know what you are—you're not just avenging Isaac. You're a sociopath who enjoys this."
Nora pulled off her mask. Her eyes were completely calm, no trace of emotion. "Maybe. But they deserved it. All of them. And there are more who helped cover it up."
She swung the axe down—but not at Vince. At the ropes holding the gym's heavy punching bags. They crashed down, pinning Vince to the mat as the cockroaches swarmed his face. Zara and Kairos lunged to pull him free, but Nora was already gone—leaving behind Isaac's journal.
