Hashirama was quietly discussing the follow-up details of handing the Seven-Tails over to Takigakure with Tobirama when hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside.
A Konoha Anbu practically stumbled inside, dropped to one knee, his breathing clearly disordered, with a thin layer of sweat on his forehead.
"Report, Lord Hashirama, Lord Tobirama! Something has happened to the Senju clan!"
"What?"
"What happened? Explain clearly!"
Tobirama's brows immediately drew tightly together, his originally indifferent eyes sharp as a blade.
"Don't rush. Take your time. What exactly happened?"
Seeing this, Hashirama raised his hand and gently pressed his brother's arm, signaling him to stay calm, while speaking sternly to the Anbu.
The Anbu moved his lips, seemingly organizing his words, and a clear trace of hesitation and difficulty flashed through his eyes.
He raised his head, quickly glanced between Hashirama and Tobirama, and finally looked at Tobirama, lowering his voice as much as possible.
"Lord Tobirama... you seem to have a son..."
The air seemed to freeze in that instant.
Hashirama stood there completely stunned, and the scroll in his hand nearly fell.
Tobirama's eyes widened even more, and his face rarely showed such complete blankness and shock.
"What did you say?"
Senju Tobirama practically forced those four words out through his teeth, his voice carrying the dangerous implication of "You'd better be joking."
Hashirama also came back to his senses and hurriedly asked, "Wait... Tobirama, when did you have a son? How come I didn't know?"
Senju Hashirama instinctively turned to look at his younger brother, memories of all these years flashing rapidly through his mind.
Tobirama had devoted himself entirely to village construction and ninjutsu research. Forget marriage, there were only a handful of women he had even seriously interacted with.
How could a son suddenly appear?
The Anbu felt his scalp go numb under the gazes of the two men at the same time, and the sweat on his forehead became even more obvious.
He braced himself and repeated, "Reporting to both of you... a child suddenly appeared in the Senju clan compound. According to our investigation... his bloodline reaction is highly consistent with Lord Tobirama's."
"The elders of the clan have already confirmed it. At present, they don't dare to deal with the matter on their own, so they specifically sent someone to ask the two of you to return and take a look yourselves."
He paused, lowering his voice even further.
"Please, both of you... return to the clan compound and take a look."
Tobirama's expression had completely darkened, and his eyes looked as though a storm was coming.
Hashirama was both shocked and suspicious. He instinctively glanced at his brother, only feeling that each piece of news he had heard today was more absurd than the last.
"Let's go."
"Let's go back and see what exactly is going on."
Tobirama immediately turned and walked outside.
Hashirama hurried after him, saying in a low voice as they walked, "Tobirama, don't get angry just yet... What if it's really a misunderstanding?"
"A misunderstanding?"
"It had better be a misunderstanding."
Tobirama didn't even turn his head, but his footsteps became faster.
Under the Anbu's guidance, the two quickly left the meeting venue and rushed toward the Senju clan compound.
———
[Senju Clan Compound]
The courtyard paved with bluestone was surrounded by tall trees, and the faint scent of wood and earth filled the air.
Several clan elders and Anbu stood to the side with complicated expressions. None of them dared to approach easily.
"This child... he looks exactly like Tobirama when he was young."
An old man with completely white hair and beard couldn't help saying in a low voice, his voice full of wonder.
"Not just exactly the same. Even his stance is the same. Back when Tobirama was five or six, he would also stand there without saying a word like this. Just looking at him made people feel he wasn't someone to mess with."
"The bloodline reaction has already been tested. There's no mistake. He's Tobirama's son."
"But when did that guy Tobirama...?"
The discussion rose and fell, but everyone kept their voices very low, afraid of disturbing the child in the courtyard.
At the very center of the courtyard stood a silver-haired boy of about five years old.
His hair was the same light silver as Senju Tobirama's, almost identical, with a somewhat stiff texture and brushed slightly backward.
His features still had the innocence of a child, but his brows and eyes faintly resembled Tobirama's features when he was young. Especially those eyes, calm and clear, even carrying a trace of scrutiny that did not match his age.
The boy stood straight, his small hands hanging naturally at his sides. He looked neither flustered nor afraid.
His name was Seito.
More precisely, he had been called Seito in his previous life.
Just a few days ago, he had still been an ordinary modern person.
When he woke up, however, he found that he had become this five-year-old child, with all the memories belonging to this body added to his mind.
His mother was a woman from a small shinobi clan. Several years ago, at a drinking party related to a mission, she had become involved in a one-night affair with Senju Tobirama, who had been completely drunk at the time.
Tobirama knew nothing about it afterward, and the woman had never gone looking for him either. She raised him alone until she died of illness not long ago.
Before she died, she left him only one sentence If one day you can't survive anymore, go to Konoha and find your father... Senju Tobirama.
Seito's first reaction after crossing over was that it was absurd. His second reaction, however, was to become clear-headed.
The world of Naruto.
Senju Tobirama's son.
If he used this identity well, it was practically like having a cheat.
So he barely hesitated. He packed a few simple things and, relying on the chakra perception and vague sense of direction remaining in his body, made his way to Konoha, found the Senju clan compound, and directly revealed his identity.
Naturally, the people in the clan didn't believe him at first.
Until someone used a bloodline secret technique to perform a simple test, and the result clearly pointed to one thing this child carried Senju Tobirama's blood.
On top of that, many of the clan elders had seen Senju Tobirama when he was young. One look was enough to shock them.
And so the scene became what it was now.
"This kid has some nerve..."
"He came here himself to claim his family. Isn't he afraid of being treated as a spy?"
"Bloodlines don't lie. And look at his little face. Put it together with Tobirama when he was young, and it's practically carved from the same mold."
Seito listened to the whispers, his face still expressionless.
He simply stood there quietly, waiting for his true "father" to return.
Seito stood where he was, calm on the surface, while thoughts raced through his mind.
"Senju Tobirama... the Second Hokage. Serious and rational, paranoid in his wariness of the Uchiha, while also extremely protective of his own people."
"At this point in time, Madara should already be 'dead,' and the Five Kage Summit has just ended. The village is in a period of rapid development."
"With my current five-year-old body, my chakra amount is pitifully small, but fortunately I have the memories from my previous life... As long as I survive, I can take my time."
He raised his eyes and looked toward the entrance of the clan compound.
The sound of footsteps was already coming from a distance.
Soon, two familiar figures would appear in his line of sight.
One was the gentle yet exhausted First Hokage.
The other was his nominal father, Senju Tobirama.
Seito quietly exhaled, pushing all his emotions back into his heart. His face once again took on the appropriate tension and anticipation of a five-year-old child.
At the entrance of the clan courtyard, the footsteps suddenly stopped.
Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama almost simultaneously raised their eyes and looked toward the small silver-haired figure in the center of the courtyard.
The air instantly froze.
Tobirama stood at the front, his expression still cold, but with an extra layer of sharp scrutiny compared to usual. Yet when he saw the child's silver hair, his heart still trembled.
Could this really be his son?
And Hashirama...
He stood there completely stunned.
His originally gentle eyes suddenly widened, his pupils shrinking slightly.
That small face, so strongly overlapping with the one in his memories.
The short silver-white hair, the calm brows and eyes, even the slightly pursed line of his lips, all looked almost exactly like the younger brother who had silently followed behind him decades ago.
Hashirama's breathing caught slightly.
'This...'
Senju Hashirama immediately had his answer.
Too similar.
It wasn't "a little similar." It was "almost carved from the same mold." The bloodline reaction had already been confirmed, and together with this face... this was definitely Tobirama's son.
Hashirama instinctively turned to look at his brother beside him. His throat moved, but he found that for a moment, he didn't know what to say.
The elders in the courtyard tactfully stepped back several paces, leaving the space to them.
