'And today… I'll go inside that poster. The idea scares me a bit, but I still have got my power helping me, I'll be alright.' With this thought, Tyel went out of his house to go and work again in the prison.
"I should warn the others about what I'll find there. If it goes directly into the secret laboratories, we can take them by surprise and save Catripple when they're not expecting it…" whispered Tyel as he kept walking down the street, when suddenly a cold shiver hit his spine. "I just hope it doesn't lead somewhere else."
As Tyel arrived at the prison, he found both his two friends, Martheel and Chud, changing into their uniforms.
"Oh, look who's there. Hey Tyel, are you doing alright?" asked Chud as he closed the buttons of his uniform.
"Were you able to get some rest after what happened 2 days ago?" asked Martheel with a worried tone. Tyel, still tired of everything that had happened recently, nodded his head while removing his shirt.
"Yeah, I feel like the day off really was what I needed," answered Tyel as he grabbed the uniform from his locker and began to change into it.
"Hehe, that means we can go and drink together…" Chud suddenly wrapped his arm around Tyel's neck. "Still, I'm angry that you've got three days off, while I… have… zero…" Angrily, Chud stretched Tyel's ear. As Tyel felt Chud touching his ear, he and Martheel laughed together.
"The next time you should try to act better at work, and you'll manage to have at least one day off like I do," said Martheel as he stretched Chud's ear from behind in the same way he was doing with Tyel.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch, I understand!" said Chud as he removed his fingers from Tyel's ear, and Martheel did the same.
"Well, still, do you think you can come with us tonight, Tyel?" asked Martheel. Tyel, with a smile over his face, nodded his head. "I'll be there, don't worry," answered Tyel as he had just finished closing the buttons of his uniform and was ready to go to work for another day.
"Great! Then don't rush off home tonight… you're spending… it drinking with us…!" said Chud. While he was speaking, he looked at Tyel with a big look of anticipation in his eyes as he walked backward towards the door. At the sight of that, both Martheel and Tyel couldn't help but burst into a big laugh too.
"Well, I'd better get to work… I need days off like you do too!" With that, Chud closed the door, and Tyel and Martheel were left alone in the changing room.
"I'm happy to see you doing alright, my friend," said Martheel with a warm smile as he noticed how his friend could laugh and have fun like he had done in the past years.
"Well yeah, things have become better. I… I was just going through a bad period of my life," answered Tyel as, together with Martheel, he walked slowly towards the door.
The changing room was one of the few places with no cameras. Zrelekai had completely avoided putting a camera there as he completely hated to see people changing, so every time the guards would meet one of their friends, it was always a great time to speak together and have a bit of fun right before going to work.
"I'm glad to hear that… and if you don't want to tell me what happened, that's completely fine. At least you'll come with me next time; drinking with Chud alone is always… you know…" said Martheel as he remembered what happened yesterday when Tyel wasn't with him. Just the thought sent a shiver down his spine.
"I know how he can act… brr, better talking about something else," said Tyel as he laughed softly at the end of the sentence. Martheel next to him did the same. "Well, we will catch up later, Tyel." The moment they stepped outside of the changing room, the two men waved at each other and went to their respective positions.
'I just got killed two times yesterday… at least it is better, yeah. Other times I got killed even 4 times…' This was how Tyel wanted to answer Martheel, but he knew that it wasn't possible, as he was the only one who could turn back time and the only one who could carry this burden.
As the hours passed, Tyel always ate before the prisoners, and when he finished doing that, he headed once again towards the great magazines. 'I hope I've been able to avoid most of the cameras… but if nothing special happens, they barely check them in this position, I should not have any problems,' thought Tyel as he passed right under a security camera.
Tyel knew that during work hours, most of the robotic guards would always focus on the cameras positioned in the central hall, the place where the prisoners work, and the garden; the fact that they checked the ones near the cells was extremely rare.
'And here I am again…' thought Tyel as he found himself once again in front of the poster in the great magazines, which were a mess over and over again.
"I can't force myself to lose any time… let's go," whispered Tyel as he entered inside the dark horizon of this long hall in front of him.
After he arrived there, only 10 minutes had passed. Tyel knew that if he didn't get killed somehow, he would still have plenty of time to return.
'I wonder for how long this tunnel keeps going,' thought Tyel, as it had already been around five minutes since he walked inside this dark hall. 'I wonder if this actually leads towards the secret laboratories… maybe there was another path somewhere in the great magazines?'
As this thought shot into Tyel's mind, he immediately shook his head. 'This can be the only path. It was impossible to walk everywhere else; someone like Ashikunz would prefer this other path instead.' Suddenly, after a few more minutes, Tyel's light beam pointed to what looked like a dead end.
"Have I finally reached the end of this?" As Tyel closed the torch, he touched the dead end with his fingers and realized that there was another poster covering the entrance on this other side.
Tyel at first felt a bit unsure about passing through. As his hands pointed towards the poster, he stopped for a moment, scared of how he might die this time.
'I'm not scared that I might die… what scares me the most is how I'll die…' Tyel had already completely given up on this timeline. He knew that too many minutes had passed, and if behind this wall lay the real secret laboratories, it was the end for him.
'Well, remaining here thinking about what I might find is useless. I've already seen worse things… like all my companions dying in front of my eyes…' As Tyel took some steps forward, the poster gave enough space for him to pass, and what lay in front of him made Tyel's heart beat extremely fast.
'What? The secret laboratories should be all black… what's this?' thought Tyel, confused, as the walls around him weren't black, but they were yellow, and the huge room around him was totally empty.
"Strange… this surely caught me off guard," whispered Tyel as he glanced around and noticed multiple halls leading towards this empty room. Tyel turned off his light as he realized that there was a strong light bulb on the ceiling.
"It is surprisingly clean… but what even is this place?" Tyel couldn't find an answer. He had never heard or seen anything like this, and he started to wander into this huge yellow space with both fear and excitement in his eyes.
'These surely aren't the secret laboratories… then what the hell is this place?' As Tyel kept asking this question, the more he thought, the more he couldn't seem to find an actual answer.
'Think, Tyel… have you ever heard of anything like this?' Tyel was walking into these huge and empty yellow rooms when suddenly, the moment he turned a corner, he jumped out of fear because in front of him there was a plushie.
"AHHH!!" shouted he, scared, not realizing what the thing in front of him was. "It's just a plushie… but what's it doing here?" Tyel slowly kneeled down to check on the plushie.
'Darian and the others told me that the seamstress was the only one who had these kinds of black plushies…' thought Tyel as he noticed that the plushie was totally black and had the same empty eyes that Darian and the others had described.
'It's just that this one isn't moving… shouldn't they like… attack me?' thought Tyel as he grabbed the plushie in his hands and noticed that it had a huge hole in its back and some plush toy stuffing coming out of it. "It is broken… I'm sorry for you, lil man," said Tyel, sure that he should not have touched it, so he carefully left it on the ground where he found it and started to walk away.
"But this place is huge… it has already been ten minutes since I've walked here and the only thing I found was that plushie… I wonder if there is actually something inside this place." Suddenly, as Tyel was walking, he heard the sound of a cup dropping on the ground.
Tyel, hearing that, immediately turned quiet. 'What was that?' Tyel, scared, realized that the sound was coming from one of the corners nearby him. As he walked slowly while sweating hard, 'let's see what's there…' As Tyel peeked around the corner, he saw something that made his heart beat in fear.
There was a huge black creature that was playing together with the toys. 'No way…' Tyel realized that this black creature wasn't a krukin; it was the seamstress. 'Based on the description they gave me… yeah, it's definitely it…' thought Tyel while he was sweating hard.
'Then it really exists… but what is it doing? Is it playing with the… plushies? I knew that it could give life to the plushies… but this is why it is using them in that way?' Tyel was confused. From what Darian and the others told him, the seamstress is extremely powerful and it was extremely difficult to beat; if Ashikunz hadn't arrived, the fight might have ended badly and they all could have died.
'Is that a zipper behind its back? What the hell is that creature?' thought Tyel as he realized that the creature had something strange: it was like an opening that was closed because of a zipper.
'I'd better get away… this isn't something I want to get involved in…' thought Tyel as he noticed that the room the seamstress was playing in was extremely girlish, the walls were entirely pink, and the plushies and the creature were all playing together like a family.
When Tyel started to walk away silently, he accidentally pressed his foot on the floor too hard and made a loud sound. 'Damn!' thought Tyel. As he moved his head around the corner hoping that the seamstress didn't hear him, he noticed that the creature had disappeared.
'Where is it…' thought he. The moment he turned around, he noticed the seamstress right in front of him. "AHHH!!" shouted he, scared. As the seamstress was about to slice him with its claws, Tyel started to run away in terror, and the seamstress followed him without any hesitation.
"WHAT IS THAT? WHY DID IT HEAR ME?!" shouted Tyel, terrified, as he started to run from the seamstress. As he arrived inside a huge yellow room, he noticed a small black door that opened the exact moment he passed next to it.
"Yawn… what's this noise? I told you to keep quiet while you play, Ma—eh, a guard?!" The person to come out of the door was Zrelekai. It seemed like he was half asleep, but the moment he noticed Tyel running away from the seamstress, he opened his eyes wide.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! STOP IMMEDIATELY!" shouted Zrelekai angrily. 'Damn, even him… well, at least I can kill myself now.' Suddenly, Tyel stopped, ready to get sliced in half by the seamstress, when Zrelekai ordered the creature to stop.
"Stop now! What are you doing here?" Hearing these words, the seamstress stopped and looked at the human angrily, while Zrelekai took the lead calmly.
"I guess I'll have to shoot myself…" whispered Tyel as he grabbed the pistol in his hands. As he lowered his head, Zrelekai took his pistol instead and pointed it towards Tyel's head.
"I suggest that you answer my question without making any mess… or your head will get blown off," said Zrelekai with a serious tone. Tyel smirked.
"That is exactly what I need," answered Tyel. Zrelekai, hearing these words, looked confused.
"Exactly what you need? Don't make me laugh… are you with the rebels? You came here for information… how stupid you are…" said Zrelekai, as he was a bit disappointed. "I thought that you were smarter, that you wouldn't just rush into the enemy's territory like this." Zrelekai was about to press the trigger when Tyel spoke again.
"Enemy territory? What even is this place?" Tyel raised his head with his pistol in his hands. While Zrelekai was about to press the trigger, he stopped to answer him.
"I can answer you… it's not like you're a problem for me," said Zrelekai with the pistol still pointed towards Tyel's head. "We're under Karyuz; this is where she lives," said Zrelekai as he moved his head for a moment to point at the seamstress. 'Oh, so it is a girl?' thought Tyel.
"And you came from the secret laboratories?" asked Tyel. Zrelekai nodded his head. "Yeah, but I don't know how all of this information will help you rebels—"
"Oh trust me, it will." Suddenly, Tyel positioned the gun against his head, and with a big smirk, he pressed the trigger and shot himself in the head.
"Déjà Veil."
"Ahhh!" shouted Tyel as he found himself in bed. "Oh shit… the seamstress lives under Karyuz… and that yellow place was under Karyuz, the old city… and it was connected directly to the old laboratories!" shouted Tyel as he realized he had finally arrived at a conclusion.
"Ahah… once I finish drinking with the others, I have to immediately reach the group… and warn them about this…" With this, Tyel lay back in his bed and fell asleep.
