Chapter 9 - Man is Mortal

In Africa, there lived a talented aspiring singer named Jublin. Though he possessed a soul-stirring voice, he was often ridiculed by his peers because of his dark complexion. One day, a friend teased him mercilessly, saying, "You are so dark! How can you ever become a famous singer? You have neither looks nor money. Stop dreaming!"

Deeply hurt and drowning in insecurity, Jublin began to doubt his own worth. "Am I not human because I am dark?" he wondered. Driven by a desperate need for social acceptance, he borrowed money from a relative and visited a skin specialist. He began taking a series of aggressive skin-brightening injections and supplements. Within a short time, Jublin's appearance transformed completely. He became fair and "beautiful" in the eyes of society. With his new look and immense talent, he eventually became a Global Famous Singer, living in a grand villa and maintaining a strictly healthy lifestyle.

However, Jublin was always terrified of death. He visited doctors frequently for checkups, but a silent poison was brewing inside him. The chemicals from the injections he had taken to change his skin color were causing severe internal damage that went unnoticed for a long time.

One sudden afternoon, Jublin began to struggle for breath. His security guards rushed him to the hospital, but his condition was critical. Even with oxygen support, his lungs failed to respond. His heart rate skyrocketed, and his blood pressure began to plummet. The doctors realized that the side effects of the skin-whitening chemicals were now fatal—his blood was turning dark, and his body was turning blue. To keep him calm from his extreme fear of dying, doctors administered high doses of sedatives. Between the long-term toxicity of the supplements and the heavy medication, Jublin's body finally gave up. He passed away, losing his life in a tragic attempt to gain the respect he felt he lacked because of his natural skin.

This story teaches us that self-acceptance is the truest form of beauty. Jublin had a gift—his voice—but he allowed the shallow opinions of others to destroy his self-esteem. We must remember that "Man is Mortal," and trying to cheat nature or life through dangerous chemicals often leads to a shorter, tragic path. Acceptance from society is never worth the price of your life. True respect comes from your talent and character, not the shade of your skin.
