Chapter 82 - Ch 82: Talk

I'd never date a woman who likes me, because if her taste is that poor, she must be either terrible or desperate.

"Still, in a different life with a different past, things might have been different." But that isn't the case here; I am a product of my experiences, and that reality won't fade as long as I draw breath.

So long as I remember exactly what kind of person I am, I remain incapable of accepting the kindness of others.

Anyway, there is a much greater thing to care about than my measly love life, which I know is monotonous.

Since Kanjuku decided to fuck off from the original plot, now I need to come up with a solution to minimize the causality that will happen in the future. And I also decided that I won't do much about Yuji getting in contact with Sukuna's fingers.

Yes, I intend to let that happen. I know that killing Yuji would ensure that Kenjaku goes haywire, but knowing him, he will have a backup for even that, which will lead the future, as I know it, into an unknown territory. And till now, I haven't killed one innocent person with my hand; of course, I didn't count the casualties from the war. I wanted to keep it that way; I wanted to live at least this life without taking a life. On that matter, I will kill Ogi when I have the chance. That motherfucker didn't deserve to live, and I'm certain I won't get nightmares if I end him.

Ogi deserves to be in hell with me; well, most of the Zenin upper echelons do, but I especially dislike that bastard. He is always on his research on how to abuse Maki and Mai with increased proficiency. And he is lucky. Three times he escaped from my hand. One of these days he will get in my hand.

Any way back to Kenjaku. From what I remember, sealing Gojo was one of the important tasks he needed to achieve in order to put his plan into full motion, for which he would use something like a cursed prison object. I didn't know the full details or the condition. I vaguely remember I was in the toilet when I saw the episode happen, and I only heard the dialogue; since the end was just Gojo sealing by Geto, I didn't need to rewatch it. And now, that came to bite me in my ass.

But that doesn't matter because I know about 'Back of Prison,' which is in Tengen's hand; I need to collect that prenup so in case Gojo does get sealed, I am able to quickly unseal him. And I also need to update my diary about the new plan and change in case I forgot about something and also review things I might have missed.

With Naoya out of the room, the playful tension evaporated, leaving Maki, Mai, and Mei in a heavy, contemplative silence. Mai was the first to break it. "Is it painful?" She was referring to the lingering burn scars on Maki's body.

"It's alright," Maki replied with a dismissive shrug. "Thanks to Naoya using his Reverse Cursed Technique and getting some much-needed rest, I'm back at my peak."

"Is the burn mark permanent, or can we treat it?" Mei Mei asked. Though she didn't care about pretty much everyone, except Naoya, she did have a soft spot for Maki and Mai because she was their mentor from childhood.

The burn marks certainly didn't detract from Maki's appearance in the slightest; if anything, they served to accentuate the fierce, wild grace of her athletic, muscular physique. To the eyes of certain observers, these faint, weathered traces even added a layer of undeniable maturity and a sense of beauty—a rugged, hardened aesthetic that leaned heavily into the popular archetype of a "muscle mommy," even if she had yet to fully reach that stage of her life and age.

But still, if Mei have to choose, she would like the previous Maki.

"It's permanent. I suspect Naoya is looking for a cure, though he hasn't mentioned it yet, knowing full well I'd tell him not to waste his time." Mei Mei nodded slowly, acknowledging Maki's words.

"Speaking of Naoya, what did he say seeing you?" Mai asked.

"Well, he called me ugly." Maki said with a blank face.

"That bastard, just wait here, Maki. I will punch some sense into that shonen idiot." Mai said as she folded her sleeve and gave the floor some stomps to express her dissatisfaction with Naoya's words.

"It's alright; he also told me that he likes 'ugly' girls like me."

Mai stared at her sister, her jaw momentarily slack. "Wow. That's the first time he's ever even remotely hinted at a personal attachment in anything he's said to us."
