Chapter 73 - Ch 73: Night Parade of a Hundred Demons 1

Maki moved through the curse army, cutting each curse left and right, without an rest and it has been two hours already. Because of the cursed tools Naoya provided her, she wasn't even feeling the sickness that she normally feels when exposed to high-intensity curse energy.

Beside her, Panda, Inumaki and Yuta were also present.

Maki still doesn't know why Yuta was here in the middle of the battlefield. Gojo and Principal Yaga were very strict on not making Yuta participate in the war because he was still new to Jujutsu society. Frankly speaking, she also agrees with Gojo and Principal Yaga's decision.

There was no need to make Yuta experience such thing at the earlier, no matter what anyone say in not even been a year since Yuta become a Jujustu Sorcerer, what if this level of volnce and bloodshed give him a mental breakdown or even a permeant trauma.

I don't know what Naoya is thinking when bringing Yuta to the middle of war. Maki thought to her self in annoyance as she remember the smug smile. Which seems to say she didn't even understand anything.

Nowadays he is looking extra annoying. Like he is always making an annoying expression or remark to piss her off. Wait a minute, is he doing that to make me hate him?

She cut the curses in half with her naginata. She pulled a curse with her hand and threw it where Inumaki was about to be surrounded by a curse. The throw made the cursed surrounding Inamaki break their chaotic formation. After that Maki got back to her thoughts as she continued to move.

How shallow did he think my love for him was, to the point that he was using such a method to make me hate him?

Maki knows that he knows she loves him, but at the same time he is also underestimating her love for him.

"Maki, near Yuta."

"On it."

He is such a difficult man? Naoya feared the relationship to the point that it was safe to say, in his mobile contact, it was just Mai, Mei, Gojo and her number. That's how he keeps others at an arm's length. And she didn't even know the reason for that.

"Panda!! Incoming!" She threw her Naginata at where Panda and Curse were fighting. Then jumped to where Panda was cut down cureses.

Her speculation regarding Naoya's behavior stemmed from the trauma of his mother abandoning him at a young age. Though it remained a theory, it was the only explanation that held any weight.

At least he didn't demand to know if we, Mai and her, loved him, only to reject those feelings outright. That thieving fox, Mei Mei, had it particularly hard because of that habit of his. In his own twisted way, at least he loves us—or at least, he cares enough that even after realizing our true intentions, he never attempted to cut ties or end the relationship.

"Toge!!! At 6 o'clock," Maki shouted as a curse tried to attack Inumaki from behind. "And Yuta, stop swinging your sword like you are about to throw it away. Put your training to practice, or do you want a 20-lap after this all over?"

Maki knows, no matter how open-minded one is, once rejected, the relationship can never return to what it was before. Of course, if both were just playing around, they could return, but even if one was serious, there is no repair. And Maki was as serious as she can get.

And Maki know Naoya also loved her, Mai and even Mei Mei, possibility is very low almost atomic with Mei Mei, but he is just too sacred to admit it.

But that won't stop her at all. At the end, he is going to mine. I will wed him; we will have 3 children. One boy and two girls. The boy's name will be Shiro, and the girls' names will be Emeya and Shoko. And we will have a private house in Okinawa. Where we will spend our holiday.

Maki nodded to her self at her endgame. It wasn't a bad dream at all. Though she did want 5 kids, Naoya would probably freak out if she said that. So for now it's just three; if Naoya didn't have any problem, it would be five. Though she hasn't come up with a name for them yet.

"Maki!! Duck!" Panda shouted as he pulled Maki's head to the ground as he punched the curse that tried to attack her.

"What are you thinking? Going absent-minded in the middle of battle." Even though panda is gentle by nature. Because of the carnage, he was shaped just like the rest of them present.

"Sorry about that." Maki immediately apologizes since she knows being absent-minded in battle will get her killed.

Just as she said that, the atmosphere around them suddenly turned grim as the pressure started pressing them down.

"It's a special grade," Panda murmured.

"Salmon," Inumaki replied.

The ruined street ahead suddenly became unnaturally quiet. A massive shadow emerged from between the collapsed buildings.

The creature stood nearly four meters tall. Its body was covered in layers of distorted human faces that continuously shifted and screamed. Some were crying. Some were laughing. Some were begging for help. The sight alone was enough to make ordinary people lose their sanity.

Even Yuta instinctively took a step backward. "...That's a Special Grade?" he asked quietly.

Maki didn't answer immediately. Her eyes remained fixed on the curse.

"Yeah." The single word carried weight. Till now they didn't encounter any problem which made me hold their breath and gamble their life but the moment have arrived and it's in front of their eyes.

Because unlike Grade 1 curses, Special Grades existed in an entirely different category. There was a reason only a handful of sorcerers could fight them.

The curse slowly looked around then its dozens of eyes settled on the group and ugly smile spread across hundreds of mouths and Mouth, which prevesly have different emotions.

"Maki." Panda's voice became serious as she called her.

"Yeah."

"If things go bad..."

"I know."

Protect Yuta. That was the unspoken agreement. Because Yuta was a beginner, and it only makes sense for seniors to protect juniors.

Inumaki stepped forward. His hand touched the zipper covering his mouth.

"Here is your cough syrup." Pande handed Inumaki a small bottle. "Maki, Yuta, search for an escape route since I am big and Toge have fire power, we will try to hold that thing off momentraly...." But his strategy went to trash the moment the Curse raised its hand and raised the land around them like a wall, blocking all their escape routes.

"Our luck is the worst," Maki murmured as she tightened her hold on the naginata.

"Salmon."
