Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Captured

What about me?" Historia Reiss sniffled, looking unhappy.

"Sorry for making you worry, His—… Historia." Chen Si reached out and wiped away her tears.

Only then did Historia seem satisfied.

Seeing this, Mikasa Ackerman wasn't as angry anymore. This time, she finally understood that she was the most important person in her brother's heart—though she still felt a little displeased.

If she still couldn't tell that Chen Si and Historia had something going on, then she wouldn't be Mikasa.

"That's great!" Armin Arlert sniffed, on the verge of tears.

"Armin, you look beautiful when you cry," Chen Si suddenly said.

"Huh? You're right…" Connie Springer stared blankly at Armin's slightly flushed face.

"What?!" Armin froze, his entire face turning red.

"You bastard, you're really lucky to still be alive!" Jean Kirstein punched Chen Si on the shoulder.

"Ah! That hurts! Damn it, Jean, are you trying to kill me?!" Chen Si cried out. He wasn't pretending—it really hurt.

"You've gotten this weak?" Jean was stunned. He used to hit Chen Si much harder than this. Now he couldn't even take it? Then… suddenly, he felt sorry for Mikasa—no, wait, Krista… no, wait, who should he feel sorry for? Jean became confused.

"Waaah… Chen Si…" Sasha Blouse was crying with snot and tears.

"Hey, hey! I can't move—someone get Sasha away from me! Damn it, Sasha, your snot!" Chen Si shouted miserably.

Everyone burst out laughing.

"Soldier Chen Si, you're quite terrifying. If I didn't know you were loyal, I might've eliminated you myself," Dot Pixis joked, noticing that the burn marks on Chen Si's face and arms had already disappeared.

"Then you'd better watch your head—I might just fry it," Chen Si shot back with a grin.

"Hahaha! As long as you're fine, I'm relieved," Pixis said with a faint smile.

"By the way, where's Eren Yeager?" Chen Si asked, looking around.

The group parted, revealing him.

"There—he's asleep," Jean said, pointing.

Chen Si looked at the sleeping Eren and realized that the royal government would soon send the Military Police to cause trouble.

"Hm? Where's Marco Bott?" Chen Si asked.

Jean fell silent. Everyone's expressions darkened.

Chen Si understood. His mind flashed back to the first day they met Marco at the training corps induction ceremony. Three years had passed—it felt like a lifetime ago.

"This debt… must be repaid. I'll make our enemies pay in blood," Chen Si said coldly, killing intent radiating from him.

Everyone clenched their fists, faces filled with anger.

"Commander! The Military Police are here," Anka said softly.

Pixis's gaze turned slightly cold.

Though her voice was quiet, everyone heard it.

"The Military Police? What are they doing here? Aren't they supposed to catch criminals?" Connie asked, puzzled.

"Are they here for Eren?" Sasha asked nervously.

Mikasa immediately frowned.

Suddenly, the door burst open. Two Military Police officers entered, followed by their commander, Nile Dok.

"Commander Pixis, under orders from the royal government, we are here to arrest the Titan, Eren Yeager, and the dangerous soldier Chen Si… Ackerman."

Out of respect for Pixis's rank, Nile still gave a formal report.

"A dangerous soldier? On what grounds?" Pixis asked calmly.

"Chen Si—Ackerman is suspected of killing a noble and members of the Garrison artillery unit. He is to be taken into custody immediately," Nile said slowly.

"What do you mean Ackerman? My surname is Chen!" Chen Si protested. What kind of nonsense was this? Why had his surname suddenly been changed?

"According to our investigation, you are a member of the Ackerman family. To prevent you from using a false name to evade capture, we will use your family name," Nile said—though he wasn't telling the full truth.

In reality, the royal government had already classified Chen Si as an Ackerman due to his abilities. His strength was seen as a threat.

Hearing this, Mikasa froze for a moment. If Chen Si was also an Ackerman… did that mean they were truly siblings?

She stepped in front of Nile, glaring at him with hostility.

Nile ignored her and waved his hand. The two officers stepped forward.

Mikasa was about to resist.

"Ackerman! I swear in the name of the military—they will not be harmed. Let them go," Pixis said.

"Commander…" Anka said anxiously.

Pixis raised his hand to stop her.

Nile paused. Pixis was essentially being forced to go back on his word—he couldn't protect Chen Si. The royal government had already marked him for execution.

"It's okay, Mikasa. Don't worry," Chen Si reassured her.

Mikasa hesitated… then stepped back.

The two officers moved to lift Eren and Chen Si.

"Hey, hey! What are you doing? I'm seriously injured for humanity's sake, and this is how you treat me? Carry my bed out," Chen Si said, raising his chin.

"Chen Si—Ackerman! Do not defy orders!" Nile shouted.

"Oh? Is that so? What if you accidentally bump me, it hurts, and I can't help but release a bit of electricity?" Chen Si said calmly.

Nile heard the underlying threat. He had heard rumors about Chen Si's lightning—it was terrifying.

"I don't have enough men to carry you," Nile said, taking a deep breath.

"Aren't you a man?" Chen Si looked at him strangely.

"Or are you a Titan?" he added, feigning shock.

"A Titan infiltrated the Military Police? That's big news!" Sasha and Connie played along, acting shocked.
