Chapter 35 - Bho Thong Arrives

Roy stood on the fields wearing the black templar armor he had ordered just days ago, there, he stood like a moving statue, all clad in black armor, it's helmet hooded by a piece of white cloth, it's large dark cloak fluttered around as the wind whipped across the military barracks, giving him an air of divine authority.

He lifted the black templar blade high in the sky, swung it around as if hacking of the wind, stabbing it around on empty air as if performing a street play.

The soldiers watched with stunned eyes, awe and shock visible in their expressions.

They watched as Roy swung the heavy sword relentlessly onto the air, a blade so heavy that it can only be labeled as ridiculous, yet here they are, seeing the miracle with their own eyes.

However, as they watched, the shock that had been gnawing them earlier began to fade... slowly.

Yes the sword was heavy, yet they did not dare question Roy's strength.

"Lord Zudra is so strong." Said one soldier, admiration visible in his tone.

"You idiot, of course he's strong. He's a God." Another soldier said furiously while smacking the previous man hard on the head, as if stating something obvious.

Just as the shock began to fade away, Roy approached a large standing tree and chopped it down with one clean swing.

The tall tree, that had been standing idle just moments ago, began to tumble down toward the crowd.

"Oops, didn't mean to do that." Roy muttered inwardly, his expression suddenly became awkward as he watched the falling tree, thankfully the helmet covered his awkward expression.

The soldiers watched as the falling tree began it's descent, yet they felt their feets stubbornly sticking to the ground, as if refusing to move.

"Ahh– my feet won't move!" The soldiers cried loudly.

"I'm gonna die."

The soldiers all cried out loudly as panic began to spread, thankfully Roy had already began to move and shielded the stunned crowd.

Roy grabbed the falling tree just in time before it could harm the gathering soldiers, he lifted the giant tree with one hand, and tossed it to the side.

The soldiers immediately let out a heavy breath, some fall flat on the ground, relief visible in their expressions.

Roy also let out a breath of relief, he did not know what to do if someone were badly injured because of him.

He removed his black templar helmet, plunged the great sword to the ground and vanished without a trace.

Far to the south of Zudrath City, the leading commander of the western kingdom, General Bho Thong rode rode quietly on his horse.

Bho Thong was sent by the Grand Marshal Ahn Dey to clear a southern army detachment right beside Hubog City.

Thankfully, he had succeeded on the campaign, yet when he returned after the battle, he had discovered the surrounding villages had become..unpopulated

"Where are all the people?" Bho Thong muttered, frowning deeply as he swept his gaze on an empty village.

One soldier kicked a wooden door, but when he looked inside, disappointment flooded through his face as he walked back toward the general.

"Still nothing sir," The soldier said weakly.

Bho Thong let out a heavy sigh, disappointment visible in his breath.

The army continued it's march along the road, day's of starvation had weaken the army that some soldiers even threw away their weapon and armor to preserve strength.

The army marched endlessly, stopping from village to village yet received the same empty welcome of an abandoned house.

Just as the soldiers slowy began to starve to death, General Bho Thong suddenly saw familiar figures dashing toward the mountains.

Bho Thong immediately signalled his troops to pursue, yet none of them have the energy left to give chase.

Seeing this, Bho Thong had no choice but to pursue the hunters on his own, he cracked his whip and and his horse immediately dashed toward the mountains.

The fleeing hunters saw the pursuing horse and their faces immediately turned pale, they climb frantically on the mountain slope yet still unable to outrun a charging steed.

Bho Thong panted heavily, hunger had gnawed on him that even a simple chase could drain all of his remaining strength.

He quickly drew out his sword and pointed it on the hunter's neck.

The hunter felt the sharp edge of the sword, cold, sharp, terrifying.

Cold sweat immediately began flooding on the hunter's back, he trembled violently as if winter suddenly arrived.

"Where are all the villagers?"Bho Thong asked in a piercing tone.

The hunters trembled even more violently, they knew if they would be dead if they offended the general.

"T–the villagers all fled to Zudrath City," One hunter said, stuttering slightly as he pointed the west with trembling hands.

Bho Thong frowned slightly, he had never heard of a place called Zudrath City in his life, he instinctively thought it was a territory from the southern kingdom.

"Wait, the south would never dare accept refugees or prisoners from the western kingdom." Bho Thong spoke silently, as if calculating a certain political issue.

"Are there food in that so called Zudrath City?" Bho Thong asked.

The hunters immediately nodded frantically, their faces still pale as sweat poured down like a flood.

Bho Thong turned his head toward the starving soldiers, still clutching the sword in hand.

The hunters all quietly let out a soft breath, thinking they have escaped death and was just about to sprint again toward the mountains.

But before they could ever relax, Bho Thong suddenly swung his sword and chopped off a hunter's head, when the other hunters turned their heads and saw one of their comrades already lying lifeless on the ground, General Bho Thong had already cut them down.

Bho Thong immediately returned to his army and continued the march.

---

After a few hours of relentless marching, the army finally set their foot on the territory of Zudrath City, just a few kilometers away.

And with just a few more steps, they had finally arrived at the city walls.

General Bho Thong glanced up at the towering city, and a wide grin began to appear on his face.
