The wings and golden horns vanish abruptly, and the pink stone in her forehead returns to the pendant she wore around her neck.
She's herself again — and now falling toward the ground.
Luckily for Chris and Zaira, Mia's body reached its limit and gave out a moment before Azkarith could land that lethal attack.
Zaira lets go of Chris abruptly — they're less than twenty meters from the ground, and she knows he can land safely — then dives straight toward Mia.
She catches her before she hits the ground and gently brings her down.
