After Hashirama finished explaining everything, and with the ironclad evidence of Madara standing before them in his Impure World Reincarnation state, Nagato had no choice but to accept the truth.
Hashirama then launched into his famous "Talk-no-Jutsu." After a long round of persuasion, Nagato ultimately abandoned his plan to use the Tailed Beasts as a means of deterrence. Besides, the current situation in Konohagakure had already achieved the desired effect—there was no need for him to push things further.
Out of consideration for a descendant of the Uzumaki Clan, Hashirama personally invited Nagato to Konoha so that his severely depleted body could be treated.
After thinking it over, Nagato agreed. Although his parents had died at the hands of Konoha shinobi, Hashirama's persuasion—and his own desire to better protect Konan—ultimately led him to accept treatment in Konoha.
Tobirama then used the Flying Thunder God Technique to bring them back to a designated location in the village, where Minato and the others had already been waiting for some time.
Hashirama entrusted Nagato to Tsunade for treatment, while Tobirama took the opportunity to stand atop Hokage Rock, observing how Konoha had developed over the past several years.
After surveying the village, he nodded in satisfaction.
"Hmm. It seems Danzo, the monkey, and the Fourth Hokage have all done quite well these past few years."
At that moment, beside a small stream in the Konoha forest, a tiny white-haired figure caught his attention. Tobirama focused his senses and examined the child's chakra.
"This child's chakra…"
At that moment, Nagi was practicing from a ninjutsu scroll Minato had given him.
Because Nagi had played a major role in capturing Obito, the Third Hokage and Danzo had specially approved several Water Release techniques for him, along with permission to study the Flying Thunder God Technique. Not only that, Minato had also handed over his personal notes regarding the technique.
However, most of Minato's notes were filled with attempts at renaming the Flying Thunder God Technique.
Names like "Spiraling Ascending Lightning Flash of the Heavenly Void Technique" and "Second Hokage Instant Flash Spatial Displacement Formula."
Reading them left Nagi completely speechless.
He could only extract the useful insights buried within those outrageous names…
So Nagi came here to train.
First, he carved Flying Thunder God seals onto rocks and tree trunks using chakra. Then he focused on sensing those marks.
Just as Tobirama arrived, he witnessed Nagi suddenly vanish—only to instantly reappear on a nearby tree trunk.
"Flying Thunder God Technique?"
Tobirama watched the training boy with interest.
Nagi also noticed the newcomer and said in shock,
"Are you… the Second Hokage?!"
Tobirama nodded.
"Indeed. It is I. Boy, were you just practicing my Flying Thunder God Technique?"
"Yes."
"That earlier attempt was…"
"My first try."
"Your first try? And you already succeeded?!"
"Yes, though my body positioning and the speed of the teleportation still need improvement."
Tobirama was suddenly speechless.
Your first attempt succeeded and you're still dissatisfied?
Still, he quickly composed himself and said,
"Since fate has brought us together, why don't you take a look at how I use the Flying Thunder God Technique?"
"Is that really okay?"
"Of course."
Tobirama then demonstrated the technique for Nagi and shared several insights from his own experience.
After sitting down and thinking for a while, Nagi picked up several stones from the ground, placed Flying Thunder God seals on them, and then scattered them into the air like a shower of petals.
Some time later…
Watching Nagi blink from one location to another in rapid succession, Tobirama felt deeply satisfied.
"So he grasped the trick just from hearing my explanation? I never expected Konoha to produce such a genius."
Once Nagi felt he had a good grasp of the technique, he stopped.
Tobirama then spoke.
"Boy, the Flying Thunder God Technique must be mastered through real combat. Next, spar with me for some practice."
Nagi understood that the Second Hokage was intentionally guiding him, so he did not refuse.
"I understand. Second Hokage, please instruct me."
Before they realized it, night had fallen.
Beside the stream, the figures of Nagi and Tobirama flashed repeatedly as they fought, teleporting back and forth.
Eventually, Tobirama called a halt to the training and said with a smile,
"Young man, your Flying Thunder God Technique has improved remarkably fast. I don't think there's much more I need to teach. The rest you can refine through your own training."
"Thank you very much, Second Hokage."
"Oh, right. There's a technique I can give you. It pairs quite well with the Flying Thunder God Technique."
"Second Hokage… this…"
"If I say take it, then take it. Don't be so polite."
Tobirama pulled out a blank sealing scroll and began writing a formula onto it with a brush.
After finishing, he handed the scroll to Nagi.
"This is Water Release: Severing Wave. It can be combined with the Flying Thunder God Technique and Shadow Clone Technique. I've also written down some of my personal insights on it."
"Thank you, Second Hokage."
Tobirama then smiled and said,
"Young man, I'm very happy that Konoha has a genius like you. If you ever encounter something you don't understand, tell Danzo—I'll come back to guide you again."
He turned around.
"Training with you today was quite interesting. And it's getting dark—be careful on your way home."
With that, Tobirama vanished using the Flying Thunder God Technique.
For some reason, the moment Tobirama left, tears welled up in Nagi's eyes.
"What's going on…? Why do I suddenly feel so sad? That's strange. We only met for the first time today…"
Holding the scroll Tobirama had left behind, Nagi began to cry uncontrollably.
"Why? Why does today feel so happy… and yet so familiar?"
Tobirama arrived at the designated location.
Hashirama, the Third Hokage, Danzo, and Minato had already been waiting there.
Hashirama asked curiously,
"Tobirama, did something good happen? You seem a little happy."
Tobirama smiled faintly.
"Is that so? I suppose I did meet an interesting young shinobi."
"Oh? Someone you find interesting? Now I'm curious."
"Leave the boy alone."
Tobirama then turned to Danzo and the others.
"Danzo, monkey, Fourth Hokage—keep a close eye on that white-haired boy studying the Flying Thunder God Technique."
"We understand." ×3
Even without the Second Hokage saying it outright, they already knew who the "interesting junior" he had met today was.
"Oh, and I also taught him one of my Water Release techniques. So don't be surprised if he uses it in the future."
Afterward, Tobirama and Hashirama returned to their coffins.
Once Minato also left, the Third Hokage and Danzo exchanged a glance.
"It seems giving Nagi access to the Flying Thunder God Technique was the right decision."
"Indeed. Judging by our teacher's tone, Nagi has already made significant progress with it. Looks like Konoha will soon produce another White Flash."
"I think Silver Flash sounds better."
"By the way, Hiruzen—after Nagi graduates from the Ninja Academy…"
"Yes. We'll see when the time comes. I'll recommend him to Minato."
"Let's hope the other villages understand the message we're sending."
