Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Why TF Is Mahito Here With Me?! (Rewritten)

It was a regular day like usual. Luke wasn't doing anything important, just on your phone, lying on his bed after he had finished his college classes for the day. The season 3s of both Re: Zero and Jujutsu Kaisen had just finished, and he enjoyed them both.

He had read the Jujutsu Kaisen manga fully but wasn't clear about Re: Zero after arc 6. Hopefully, the anime would soon come to that.

He rubbed your eyes in irritation as he felt his vision distorting, like he was seeing things that weren't there.

"I need to get some more sleep... and badly..." Luke said as he covered his face with his arms for a silent moment to breathe. For some reason, it felt like his head was heating up from the inside, but it probably didn't matter. It never did.

He had relied on himself for the majority of his life, and he didn't want to bother his parents any more than he already had.

'I hope he's alright. We haven't met in a while, that guy...' He thought melancholy in his mind.

But when he looked back at his phone again, he saw that he was now in the middle of a forest. Panic filled his eyes, but only for a second, as he quickly realised what had happened to him.

"No fucking way I got transmigrated," he said with a sigh. It wasn't a particularly thrilling thing for him since he just was not interested in dealing with a new life in a new world.

Before he got up to walk, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Now the panic in his eyes was real and stayed for much longer. Thinking it was a predator, he jumped back in fear. But then his eyes widened in disbelief as he saw what—no, WHO—it was.

Bluish long hair tied into two braids, long scars on his face, pale skin, and a weird grin on his face. He would've looked like a scary homeless man with his dark shirt that looked like it was ripped on his left arm. But he knew who he was. How couldn't he? It was the deranged, humanity-hating Cursed Spirit himself: Mahito.

"So are you the human who brought me here~" he said with a "friendly" smile, but Luke felt that if he said no, he would kill him immediately for fun. And that would be the best-case scenario when up against someone like him.

"Ye-Yeah, I am!" Luke tried to keep his voice steady to sound confident, but the more important thing was figuring out why the fuck Mahito was here with him. There's no way he could have also been transmigrated.

"Hmmm... you're probably telling the truth since I don't feel the desire to kill you..." he said casually while scratching his head, looking innocent despite his words.

'Is he playing with me...? I thought he hated all humans, even more than normal Cursed Spirits.' Luke thought grimly in his mind, suspecting it was just a cruel play from Mahito.

"Sooooo, what are we doing now?" he asked as Luke stood up, contemplating his words.

'Is he serious about what he said, or is this just another sadistic game from him...? Should I just ask him outright? But that might just end up with him killing me faster... NAH, let's gamble!'

"What are you even talking about? I didn't summon anyone here." His voice was now fully calm somehow—a skill, or you could also call it a deceptive talent, which he learned in his childhood.

Mahito looked a bit confused as his eyes sharpened subtly, his gaze locked on him—or rather, on his soul. Luke knew his whole Cursed Technique was about changing the shape of the soul, which also gave him the ability to see the soul. So Mahito was probably making sure of his judgment by looking through you.

'Average physiology, but the Cursed Energy spike that I sensed when I first saw myself here had to have come from him.' Mahito analysed Luke's soul, giving his judgement.

"Uhhh... I don't know what to tell you, but you definitely summoned me here. There's no reason to lie. I understand humans better than they do. I know why they lie, why they love, and especially why they hate.... And besides, I noticed your Cursed Energy dissipating from the activation of your Cursed Technique after I was summoned here~"

It was an awkward moment for Luke as he watched Mahito go from serious to nonchalant in a few seconds. But you caught on when he said "Cursed Technique."

How the fuck could he have a Cursed Technique, and how could he have even activated it to summon Mahito here? Nothing was making sense. This whole thing was stressful as shit, but at least it seemed like his technique was preventing Mahito from killing him. At least that was good.

The next few seconds practically became erased from Luke's mind as he found himself walking together with Mahito, presumably to find an exit.

"I don't know about you, but I would really like to get out of here." Mahito wrapped his arms around you as he started yapping about how he was almost going to kill Itadori before the switching guy came in, about how there seemed to be much more Cursed Energy in the surroundings than back in his old world. But you were too busy thinking in your own head to listen. You walked beside him as you two walked in a random direction.

'How the hell did I get a Cursed Technique that can summon people from Jujutsu Kaisen of all shows!? And does it make it so that the summoned people are loyal to me or something? The fact that Mahito didn't ask me for orders and only said he didn't have the desire to kill me makes me think otherwise... But hey, look at the bright side. If I'm lucky, I could be perfectly safe in this new world as long as I can get these quirky fucks under control.'

"By the way, does your Cursed Technique still work?" Luke asked him as Mahito was just strolling casually with his arms behind his head and his eyes closed. He needed to know if he had all his powers and especially what kind of world this was.

"Do I really want to answer you after you ignored my venting session?" he pouted and looked away.

What an annoying fuck, like always. But then he suddenly elongated his arms and turned them into sharp blades before cutting a massive tree far away into two easily. Well, at least he seemed to be at full power.

'Oh~? Doing that was easier than usual. Looks like this world has a much higher reservoir of Cursed Energy~ This'll be fun~' Mahito thought as he realised that he had access to much more Cursed Energy than normal.

"I won't question how you seem to know what my technique is. Let's just get out of here. I wanna meet the humans of this world~" he said, turning his arm back to normal and strolling casually again.

Luke nodded in slight appreciation as the two finally walked out of the forest after what seemed like an hour. The air was fresh, and the view was incredible. There was a massive plain filled with grass and sometimes tracks where you could see caravans, which meant that this was probably a medieval-type world. This should have given him hope in terms of safety, but there was one big problem... HE COULD SEE THE GIANT FLÜGEL'S TREE IN THE DISTANCE.

"WHY THE FUCK AM I HERE WITH MAHITO!!" you shouted as Mahito looked momentarily surprised at your outburst before breaking out into laughter with tears in his eyes, not understanding why you were so upset. Of course he wouldn't understand, since he didn't know the implications of that tree still being there.
