Chapter 28 - The Distance Between Souls

One month later...

Back at the Kingdom of Nacia, Soral had become increasingly worried about Dranexx's silence. There was simply no way for her to contact him

Their soul link still existed. Dranexx himself had created it and she could feel that it remained active. Yet no matter how many times she tried reaching him, nothing happened It was as if an invisible wall stood between them.

The truth was simple.

Dranexx had blocked her and there was no way she could enter his No-Realm. No passageway existed.

Akube stretched lazily before glancing at Soral.

"Will you chill, Lady Soral...? Trust me, my buddy is fine, okay? He's probably busy. Knowing Dranexx so well, that's what I can tell you. I have complete faith that he's alright. After all, he's the strongest person I've ever seen"

Soral lowered her gaze.

"I am not worried that he's in danger... I'm worried that he doesn't want to communicate with me anymore"

The room became quiet.

"The last time I saw him, I was seriously angry at him. Maybe to him I am still angry... but I'm not"

Her fingers tightened slightly.

"Please come home, bby..."

Lisa sighed.

"He's fine, don't worry, okay? We all owe him an apology, got that?"

"Just shut up... I am not happy here, Lisa"

Scorpy immediately jumped in.

"Hey Big Mommy Soral, chill okay. She didn't mean anything bad"

Soral looked away.

"Sorry Lisa... I just find it hard to focus"

"It's okay, Lady Soral. Trust me, he's not angry at you. I believe Akube. He's probably sorting something out. He will come back"

"Oh okay... I am calm"

Lisa smiled before pulling Soral into a hug.

She didn't resist.

Inside the No-Realm...

"Ahh..."

Dranexx stretched as he looked into the endless void.

"How long has it been since I've been here... battling myself and trying to understand my skill. It makes me forget I have friends back home waiting for me"

He scratched his cheek.

"Well, I'm sure they're not worried. Who needs me now...? No one"

A pause.

"I hope Soral is fine though"

His expression softened.

"The last time we spoke was during the mock battle. She was really angry at me. Should I contact her...?"

He thought about it for a moment before shaking his head.

"No... I don't think that's a good idea. She might still be angry and wouldn't want to talk to me"

With that thought pushed aside, his eyes sharpened.

"Anyway, I will solve all that later. Right now, I need to understand my skill..."

WORLD OF CAVALRY.

A grin slowly spread across his face.

"Honestly, there's so much more about this ability. It's truly amazing. I can't believe how broken it is"

After a month of training, he had finally begun to understand it.

"But hold on... I need to refrain from using it"

His expression darkened.

"If by any chance I kill anyone with one of the weapons manifested from there, it takes all of their powers and adds them to mine. Not only that, it amplifies them twenty times before adding them to my own power... or it reforms them into a weapon I can wield anytime"

Even saying it aloud sounded ridiculous.

"Wait..."

He blinked.

"What if Scorpy kills someone with the sword I gave him? Would the same rules apply...?"

After thinking for a while, he shrugged.

"Well... we don't know for now"

His gaze swept across the endless No-Realm.

"And secondly... my No-Realm has gotten a lot wider. I can tell. It seems infinitely bigger than before. I guess I'll ask Soral to observe it for me when I get home"

The moment he said that, he paused.

"...When I get home"

A small smile appeared before quickly disappearing.

"For now, let me grasp the full extent of all my abilities. I need to stay a little longer"

His eyes narrowed.

"Somehow, I feel there are deadly foes out there. No matter what, I need to protect Soral in the future against the other Grandmasters"

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"I've actually fallen for her completely... so I can't lose her yet"

His aura slowly spread throughout the endless No-Realm.

"So no... I don't have the necessary capability. I need to master my abilities first. Lack of experience might lead to my own downfall, and I can't allow that"

Dranexx's resolve was clear he wasn't training for power,He was training to master his own abilities and fully understand the concepts behind them
