"Sir?"
Sarah stood near the doorway, still unable to fully process the luxurious room spread before her. Her gaze wandered across the elegant furnishings, the warm fireplace, and the expansive windows overlooking the city. Everything felt far too lavish, far too personal, to be a simple guest room. A nervous uncertainty settled in her chest as she slowly turned to face Jayden.
Jayden followed her gaze and slipped both hands into the pockets of his trousers. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Sorry if it's a little small."
Sarah's eyes widened instantly. She shook her head so quickly that several loose strands of hair fell across her face.
"No! I mean…" she blurted. "This is..." Her voice trailed off as she glanced around the room once more. The space was larger than her entire apartment, decorated with understated luxury that spoke of wealth without the need to flaunt it. She turned back to him, her confusion deepening. "What do you mean I'm staying here?"
