Chapter 3 - chapter 3: He Saw My Son.

Three years later…

"Mommy, are we going to see Daddy today?"Amelia's steps froze. Her fingers tightened around her son's small hand."No," she said gently. "We don't need him."

The little boy pouted slightly but nodded. To him, "Daddy" was just a word.To her—It was a danger.A past she had buried,A man she could never face again,But fate had other plans Because across the street…A black luxury car door opened And Adrian Knight stepped out.

Taller.

Colder.

Even more dangerous than before His sharp gaze scanned the area—Then suddenly stopped On the child,Something inside him shifted. The resemblance was too strong,Too familiar,Too impossible,His eyes darkened.

"Who is that child…"

"…and why does he look exactly like me?"

FearedAmelia felt it before she heard it That presence.Cold, Sharp,Dominant Adrian Knight.

Her body reacted instantly—her heart racing, her fingers tightening around her son's hand."Mommy… you're hurting me," the boy said softly She quickly loosened her grip. "Sorry, baby." Too late.

A shadow fell over them."Amelia Carter."His voice hadn't changed.Still deep,Still commanding,Still dangerous,She turned slowly And there he was.Standing right in front of her Closer than he had any right to be.

"Long time," he said, his gray eyes scanning her face like he was memorizing every detail. She forced her expression to stay calm. "Not long enough."His lips curved slightly Not a smile A challenge Then his gaze dropped. To the child The air shifted instantly.

Heavy.

Tense.

Deadly.

"Who is he?" Adrian asked.Simple question. But it felt like a knife to her throat."My son," Amelia replied firmly.Adrian crouched slightly, bringing himself to the boy's level. The resemblance hit him harder up close.Same eyes,Same expression,Same presence.

Something inside him snapped into place.A truth he didn't want to accept—but couldn't ignore."What's your name?" Adrian asked. The boy smiled innocently. "Ethan."Adrian repeated it quietly. "Ethan…"

Then he looked up at Amelia.

And this time—There was no softness in his eyes.Only certainty.

"He's mine, isn't he?"Amelia's heart stopped. She didn't answer And that silence said everything.
