Seren Moore leaned toward the telescope, knowing she would suffer from a severe back pain afterward. She was studying Jupiter. Specifically, the famous 'Great Red Spot'. "A massive, anticyclonic storm in Jupiter's southern hemisphere, roughly 1.3 times the size of Earth and over 300 years old. As a high-pressure system, it features winds exceeding 400 mph and rotates counterclockwise, appearing as a long-lived, oval-shaped feature. It is currently shrinking and becoming more circular" The internet says. It had been already been discovered, but, she enjoyed observing it. There's no fault in observing. Right?
Seren is a physicist. One of the well known 45 years old scientist in Caltech's history. She is the kind of person who can enjoy a party whole night and still be able to work in the morning.
She wasn't sitting on her home's roof. She was in her office's roof. She was still in her office. She was observing Jupiter, researching about the topic that had been bothering her; pre-striking transient and researching about tomorrow's scientific photography competition. Where she will go as a judge. She smiled just by thought and she forgot how she was biting her nails in nervousness, when she accepted the invitation. How ridiculous!
When she was about to stand up, a mechanical song interrupted her. Her ringtone. Where a unknown number popped up. Seren didn't know this number. She hesitated before answering. Maybe, it's from any advertisement company, or something like that. She thought.
"Hello?" Seren said.
"Is this Miss Moore?" said a girl from other side.
"Yeah, I'm Seren Moore."
"Ma'am, I'm Emily from 'Wales National College Science Festival'." The voice continued. "Ma'am you were invited for being a main judge for scientific photography."
"Yeah, I remember." Seren replied and smiled unknowingly. It is the kind of work she loves to do beside of researching.
"Please, come tomorrow, don't miss. We will be very happy." The voice sounded like the person had a cold. She should take medicine. Seren thought.
"Yeah, I'll come. Thank you for inviting."
"Thank you ma'am, we look forward your presence tomorrow."
She hung up the phone and looked up in the sky. The event was going to be bigger, she thought. It was overwhelming that she had to judge a photography competition when she had works to do. But, she'll deal with that later. It wasn't a big matter for her either. But, the research is important. She thought. No, but I'll manage anyway. She looked at her phone, Tomorrow is Friday. Maybe, a good day to judge creativity of others.
