Chapter 173 - Chapter 173: I Don't Like Your Attitude

Upon entering the Hokage's office, Furina saw that Tsunade, Jiraiya, Kakashi, as well as the two elders Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu, were all gathered in this small room.

After her gaze swept over the two elders who usually stayed out of sight, Furina could not help but slightly raise an eyebrow. She had originally thought this would be a private conversation between herself and Tsunade, but she hadn't expected these two to show up here as well.

And it was predictable that their presence would not bring anything good.

Sure enough, just as Furina stepped into the room and before Tsunade behind the desk could speak, Utatane Koharu from the side was the first to launch an attack.

"Why are you the only one here? Where is that Uchiha clan member who attacked Elder Danzo? Don't tell me she knows she did something wrong and doesn't dare to show up."

"What nonsense is this elder spouting? I don't know where you heard this information from, but it's far too different from the full picture of what happened.

Danzo intended to plot against that Seven-Tails Jinchuriki from the Hidden Waterfall Village, and that Uchiha merely stepped in out of righteousness to stop him. Please get the facts straight before you speak, alright?"

Faced with Utatane Koharu—an NPC whom she barely even remembered from her memories—Furina really couldn't be bothered to waste more words on her.

She was also a disciple of the Second Hokage, yet she had always just followed behind others, waving flags and shouting slogans. Even now, at this point, she still tried to twist black and white for the sake of a bit of power. One could only say she was even more useless than Danzo.

Seeing that Furina showed no respect for her status as an elder and even seemed to look down on her, Utatane Koharu's expression could not help but turn somewhat ugly.

With her position, in the past, no matter who spoke to her, they were always polite—even the Third Hokage and Danzo were the same. But now this junior, Furina, was actually mocking her so openly. To her, this was an immense humiliation.

"What did you say? Are you implying that I'm slandering you? Even if Danzo indeed had some unsavory past, that doesn't erase the contributions he made to the village.

And now you think you can just gloss over the matter with such a simple explanation? Do you think this explanation does justice to your own conscience, to the village, and to the Will of Fire?"

"Gloss over?" Hearing Utatane Koharu's righteous words, Furina couldn't help but be amused by her. She didn't even know whether the other was clever or just foolish.

If clever, she knew that since even Danzo had been targeted, she chose to run her mouth instead. But where she was foolish was in still trying to morally bind Furina with the Will of Fire. She couldn't possibly think that the same nonsense that worked on Konoha's White Fang would work on her too, could she?

"Sigh, I originally thought that someone who could sit in your position would at least be somewhat intelligent, but now it seems you're far inferior to the Third Hokage—even worse than Danzo.

Everyone knows about Danzo's affairs; at the very least, everyone present here is well aware. I don't know what your purpose is in saying these things. In the past, I might have bothered to argue with you over them.

But your attitude makes me very displeased. Right now, I just want to know—what exactly is your backing for stirring up trouble here for no reason?"

"?"

Hearing this, Utatane Koharu was just about to retort about Furina's disrespect for her elders, but before she could get the words out, Furina had already arrived at her side. At the same time, one hand gently rested on her shoulder—the motion light and gentle, as if she were merely brushing dust off the other's clothes.
