Chapter 13 - First Day At Novaris Academy (1)

In the blink of an eye, Monday came.

Noah was lying on his bed. His white hair was messy, and his eyes were closed. His long eyelashes enhanced his appearance, while his face had a perfect shape.

Slowly, his eyelids twitched as they began to open.

Everything was blurry. He blinked a few times, allowing his eyes to adjust.

Yawn~

He yawned and stretched his arms above his head.

'It's already morning... and Monday. The first day of the academy.'

He lay there for a while, thinking.

He had been really excited about this, but now that the first day had finally arrived, he suddenly started to feel nervous.

Could he do well? Could he get along with the main characters? Could he survive the academy? What about all those dangerous situations he knew nothing about?

Would his actions cause a butterfly effect?

'Fuck! There's no point in thinking about all that. The biggest problem will be my own personality.'

He got out of bed with a sour expression.

If he had to describe what kind of person Noah was, not the previous Noah, but Aron, who was now Noah, then the only word he could think of was troublemaker.

That had been his reputation in his past life.

Of course, it wasn't as if he had tried to cause trouble. He usually just did normal things, but somehow, they always ended up causing problems.

Maybe he was simply unlucky.

Pushing those thoughts aside, Noah entered the bathroom.

He brushed his teeth and then took a nice bath.

Afterward, he opened the cupboard in his bedroom. Yesterday, the academy had sent him his academy uniforms. There were two of them in total.

He took one out and put it on.

Soon, he was standing in front of the mirror, checking his appearance.

The uniform consisted of a white shirt and a red tie. Over the shirt, he wore a tailored gray blazer. Red piping ran along the edges of the blazer's collar and cuffs.

Three subtle rune patterns were woven into the inner lining. They provided a small amount of protection for the body.

Noah simply ran his hands through his hair, arranging it enough to look presentable. Even if he kept it a little messy, there was no point in trying to completely change his appearance.

"Okay, it's time for the academy."

Noah left his dormitory. He walked out of the dormitory buildings, the morning air cool and fresh against his face. The campus felt different today.

It was much livelier.

Groups of students in identical uniforms moved along the pathways. Some chatted excitedly, while others looked just as nervous as he felt.

The cobblestone path stretched ahead of him, leading toward the academic section of the academy.

Sunlight filtered through the tall trees, casting shifting shadows across the ground.

Noah slipped his hands into his pockets and walked at a relaxed pace.

'Calm down,' he told himself.

As he passed through a small commercial area inside the campus, he noticed that a few shops were already open.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee drifted through the air.

A bakery displayed warm bread behind glass panels. A convenience stall nearby had snacks neatly stacked on its shelves.

Noah slowed down.

"...Might as well."

He stepped into the shop and casually picked up a few packets of chips, some candies, and a pack of roasted peanuts.

The shopkeeper glanced at him briefly while scanning the items.

After paying, Noah stepped aside and discreetly stored the snacks inside his storage ring.

'For emergency situations,' he thought seriously.

Then he resumed walking.

He took out his student ID card and examined it.

On the back, a small digital display lit up when he tapped it. His schedule appeared, along with his classroom number.

"First-year Class A-1—Room 1-07."

"Hmm."

He looked around, searching for directional signs.

Large boards were placed at intersections across the campus, indicating the different academic blocks.

After walking for several minutes and asking a passing student for confirmation, he finally located the correct building.

It was larger than the others nearby. It was built from the same white stone as the main structure, but it had a more academic feel than the administrative buildings.

Students were entering through its tall doors.

Noah climbed the short staircase and stepped inside.

The interior hallway was wide, with rows of lockers lining the walls.

Conversations echoed softly around him.

Some students laughed nervously. Others stood quietly, reviewing their notes. A few simply looked around curiously.

Noah followed the room numbers displayed above each doorway.

1-03.

1-05.

Then—

1-07.

Noah stopped walking.

In front of him stood a huge double door made of dark, polished wood. Subtle rune markings were engraved around the frame.

This was it.

His classroom.

For a brief moment, he simply stood there, staring at the door.

'Alright... let's see what kind of chaos awaits.'

Taking a slow breath, Noah reached for the handle.

He slid the door open.

"Hah... okay."

Noah entered the classroom and closed the door behind him.

He saw descending rows of desks, one row after another, arranged beautifully.

The classroom was filled with students, and the atmosphere was full of energy.

The entire interior was neat and spotless, almost as if it were shining.

Students were chatting among themselves. Friends were catching up with each other, while some diligent students prepared for their first day with their heads buried in books.

But then their eyes fell on the newcomer.

Noah, who had just entered, felt strange.

He stopped at the door, gazing at everyone as they stared back at him.

The classroom went silent when they saw him.

Noah blinked and smiled nervously, unsure why they were looking at him like that.

Actually, he already had an idea.

But he never expected it to have this much effect.

Noah didn't remain there for long.

He walked to the back of the class, chose a seat in the last row, and sat down.

Many students began murmuring about Noah with displeased expressions, while a few looked curious, seemingly unaware of why everyone was talking about him.

Noah simply ignored the stares.

He closed his eyes and waited for the class to begin.
