The Veyra Grand Theater Concert Hall.
Tonight, the legendary folk singer Han Leina was performing here.
She was an unusual star—far more famous overseas than at home.
It was the age of pop and rock, and most young people thought traditional Chinese music was old-fashioned.
But foreigners loved it, fascinated by its exotic charm.
So Han Leina was a global name, yet only moderately popular locally.
But Kael knew one thing for sure:
Aurora Hale was her huge fan.
A normal concert might not have lured Aurora out—but this one definitely would.
Early the next morning, Kael picked up his car from the shop and parked at the south gate of Havenshire University.
When Second arrived, he froze, then reached out to touch the car in awe.
"This is amazing!"
"Get in."
"On my way!"
Kael looked at the guy in the passenger seat with an amused expression. Second shifted nervously under his gaze.
"Bro… something wrong?"
"Second, I gave you the chance, and you're wasting it."
"Huh?"
Kael sighed and told him to move to the back.
Confused, Second climbed into the rear seat. Only then did Kael explain.
"You finally asked the girl you like out. Why sit next to me? You're supposed to sit next to Lina!"
Second's eyes lit up like a lightbulb just turned on.
He was an idiot! Why had he sat in front?
He gave Kael a massive thumbs-up.
"Kael! From now on, you're my real brother!"
Kael ignored him.
At that moment, Aurora Hale and Lina Ba appeared at the campus gate.
And in that instant, every single student and teacher nearby turned to stare.
Two breathtakingly beautiful girls, side by side.
One bright and dazzling like a diamond; the other soft and pure like jade.
They drew every eye like a magnet.
Second tapped the window excitedly and called to the "diamond."
"Lina! Over here!"
The crowd glanced at the car, their expressions turning sour.
Spoiled rich kid… One day I'll have a ride like this too.
Lina Ba didn't seem to notice the stares at all. She checked out the BMW X5, then happily climbed into the front passenger seat.
"Did you borrow this? It's so cool!"
Kael's eyes narrowed slightly. "Aisha's been waiting for you. Why don't you sit in the back?"
Lina glanced at Second in the rear and pouted.
It was her first time in such a nice car—she wanted to sit upfront. But she barely knew Kael.
Second quickly spoke up. "It's fine! Let Lina sit up front, I don't mind!"
Kael wasn't having it.
"But I want Miss Hale up front. Or you can drive, Aisha, and I'll sit in the back with Aurora."
Everyone was just fresh out of high school. Almost no one had gotten their license over the summer, least of all Second.
Reluctantly, Lina and Aurora switched seats.
Aurora was quiet and gentle, with long, silky smooth hair and a delicate dress that suited her perfectly.
This was Kael's first time seeing her up close.
In his past life, he'd dug into her background many times, but never this near.
Aurora settled into the passenger seat. Her voice was as soft and calm as her personality, clear and gentle.
"Do… I know you?"
She'd already heard that this boy had been asking about her.
Kael smiled lightly.
"I hope I'll get to know you."
The unexpected answer made Aurora glance at him again.
He was handsome, energetic, with bright, sharp eyes.
But beyond that, she stayed quiet, answering only a few casual questions along the way.
Lina, on the other hand, chattered nonstop.
"Hey, what's your name?"
"Did you really borrow this car? Do you know a lot of rich people?"
"You got concert tickets too? You seem really connected in Veyra."
"This is a BMW, right? How much is it?"
"I'm jealous you were born here. I'm from the grasslands."
Kael was starting to get annoyed.
He'd wanted to talk to Aurora and leave an impression—but Lina just wouldn't shut up.
He glared at Second through the rearview mirror.
Can you control your girl?
Second's reaction only made him want to facepalm.
The guy just grinned like an idiot the entire ride, laughing at everything Lina said.
They arrived at the concert hall.
The Veyra Grand Theater was half-public, half-private.
In the director's office, Director Lu Weibing was sitting across from a pretty young girl.
It was Lila Hart.
Lila desperately needed money.
She owed her roommates, and she still had to buy back her phone from White Oak Restaurant.
She was furious—Kael had frozen her card!
She had nothing left, so she'd come up with a plan.
Superstar Lau would be performing here tomorrow.
His tickets were nearly impossible to get—people were going crazy for them.
Lila saw an opportunity.
Grab ten tickets, sell them on the street, and she'd have cash instantly.
Director Lu smiled awkwardly.
"Can… can we talk this through?"
Lu knew about Lila's history with Kael.
He'd met her at a Voss family dinner, had a little too much to drink, and bragged wildly once he heard she was close to Young Master Kael.
"I might not be much, but I can get you ten, twenty tickets easy! With your connection to the Voss family, you just ask and they're yours!"
He never thought she'd actually show up.
He also knew how crazy Kael had been for this girl—rumor said they were even engaged.
Lu said helplessly, "Miss Lila, I do have pull with tickets, but Lau's show is sold out. How about… I scrape together two for you?"
"NO!" Lila placed her hands on her hips. She needed a big haul. "My whole dorm wants to come, plus friends! Ten isn't even enough!"
Lu didn't dare argue.
If she badmouthed him to Kael once the Voss heir took over, he'd lose his job.
He reluctantly picked up the phone.
"Get me ten front-row tickets for tomorrow's Lau show. Now."
"What do you mean sold out? Find a way!"
"Buy them back from scalpers if you have to! I need them now!"
He hung up, forcing a smile.
"Will that work, miss?"
Lila nodded, satisfied.
"Fine. I'll remember you, Uncle Lu."
That perked Lu right up. "Please say good things about me to Young Master Kael!"
At the mention of Kael, Lila's expression turned awkward.
Kael wasn't her little puppy anymore. She could no longer control him.
She just nodded vaguely.
Just then, a knock came at the door.
"Come in," Lu called.
Kael Voss walked in, holding a bag of fresh fruit.
His eyes met Lila Hart's.
