Well the god did everything he said he would gave me the power and everything I never knew my parents I was left here at Sutego orphange… I always though they were a little too on the nose with that name. My new name in this is Ryu, hilarious god I'm sure this was his doing. I'm five years old estimated born December 16, 2078 so a few months before tatsuya and miyuki in canon although that info may be useless now. Well life at the orphanage was okay I guess it was boring repetitive and not lot happend I never really talked to anyone but no one really avoided me most just said I came of as weird and kinda cold but again no one was really avoiding me.… until yesterday that is. Yesterday was my birthday and I forgot one very crucial factor in this world the discrimination against magicians yeah I used magic trying to impress people and now all the kids and some of the care takers are scared now. In retrospect I should've known better and it was a stupid decision on my part.
"Ryu would you please follow me to the meeting room there is someone who wants to meet you" said one of the caretakers I didn't bother to remember their names because most of them were part time hired help that didn't stay too long, but this one seemed scared. Maybe today was finally the day… god I hope so being in an orphange sucks.
I followed her through the hallway to a the meeting room which was used to meet potential parents. All in all this place is nicer than you'd expect for an orphanage but I guess that's to be expected in away what with the large advancements in technology compared to the earth I was in before. I followed the temp help caretaker into the room and saw the orphange matron Miss Sutego, Man I cannot get over how unfortunate her name is, and across from her was a beautiful woman in a wine red dress and a butler. Miss Sutego gestured to the seat beside her for me to sit a nodded and sat down.
"So this is the boy you mentioned" said the woman her eyes shimmering with curiosity and cruelty.
That set off red flags in my head why did the orphange matron know the future head of the Yotsuba family of the future 10 master clans but he didn't think too much about it beyond that as the wheel said this was what would happen it's still weird though I'll ask Maya or more likely the butler. I don't recognize him it's not Tatsurou Hayama as he only answers to the clan head oh well if I find out I find out.
"Yes lady Yotsuba this is Ryu he has a strange magic that we don't know how he got or learned only that he has it but it feels wrong. It gives a feeling of dread just looking at it. Ryu show them your magic." Miss Sutego replied
I didn't question I knew where this was going to go. I presented my open palm and a bright bluish white light sphere formed on my hand but despite it looking simple there was something off putting about it, something wrong at least that's how it looked to Maya and the butler. I closed my palm shortly after. Then Maya stared at me with an unsettling gaze the kind of gaze that wanted the entire world to burn to ash and be trampled upon. Most would flinch at that kind of glare even I did but something instinctual screamed in me and at somepoint I didn't even notice when myself I smiled back not challenging or anything weird just an innocent childlike smile.
The butler than spoke up "Ehem… it would seem he possessives some form of ancient magic though I've never seen or heard of anything that resembles it."
"Ryu what exactly is your magic?" Maya asked calmly, which surprised me that she called my name I expected child or boy.
I spoke for the first time in this meeting "I don't know I've always had it but I don't know what is called it just lets me make this light but it tends to break the things that it touches." I said in a childish tone and then I created the light again and slammed it into the table as a demonstration the table shatterd into splinters. "I feel like there are other things I can do with it but I don't know how yet but I think I'll figure it out." I said with an innocent smile like I hadn't just shattered a reinforced mahogany coffee table.
"Fufufufu" Maya laughed clearly amused with my display
"Chi- no Ryu would you like to be my son? Afterall I've taken a liking to you and besides I'd hate to see someone with your ability waste away without proper teaching." Said Maya amused smiling but anyone who looked at her eyes would see the insanity within afterall Maya was not a kind person and honestly who could blame her after what had happend to her. Sure her desire to see the entire world burn might be excessive but her being vengeful and cruel that makes a lot of sense.
"I would love to I've always wanted a mother." I said with a smile in the same cutsey childish tone I'd been using since I started talking but something told me she was aware that I was being childish and cutesy on purpose like a gut instinct she knew and she was allowing it she could tell I was smarter and more mature than I was letting out as expect of her.
"Fufufu, good Aoba file the paperwork for his adoption." She commanded the butler
"Mistress are you sure that's a good idea the patri" she raised a hand to silence the butler whose name I now knew
"He has no say in this do it if he disagrees I'll convince him otherwise besides he knows what happend to me and knows what I can no longer have he should allow this." She exclaimed her voice colder sharper
"It shall be done" replied Aoba as he gestured to Miss Sutego so they could go fill out the paperwork.
As soon as they left the room Maya looked at me and smiled not the fake kind of smile she put on for those around her this one was real and that was what was unnerving it was genuine and warm no malice or calculation behind I didn't let my discomfort show she just continued to look at me until Aoba and Miss Sutego came back.
"It's done mistress" said Aoba bowing respectfully towards her
"Excellent go gather your things Ryu from now on you are my child you may call mom or mother whichever you prefer because from today onward you are a member of the Yotsuba clan." said Maya still smiling but it was back to the fake one.
I smiled back, got out of the chair walked back to the room I shared with others and gathered up what little I had. After gathering what little belongings I had I met up with Maya no mother in the orphange entry way as we walked out of the building she gave me a hug which surprised me based on how she was depicted in the anime an novel but then I rembered what god said everything will change as soon as you exist there some events may happen although different and some may not happen at all these people are no longer charcters in a story they are alive I once again re affirmed that in my heart as Maya then proceed to pick me up and carry ,e to the car they used to get here. I gave the orphanage one last look before we left I didn't particularly care about the place but I did live there for 5 years so it was a slight melancholic feeling.
"Don't worry i'll help you adjust to this new life and teach you how to use other magic just incase we'll give you a month to settle in before that though." she said giggling lightly
I was both excited and scared after all probably no one else besides him would be able to claim that the demon king of the far east was their mother and teacher. That thought caused me to smile as Aoba drove them away from the orphanage and to the Yotsuba clan estate.
