Arabella stood there, imagining all the joy and fun she could have had running with Enzo. She could only blame her luck—and that damn Lyra.
"Weak ass, always sleeping and getting hurt over little things. And I think she boasted that she was stronger," Arabella muttered dejectedly as she made her way back to her quarters.
Since Sophia had not gone for the run because of her injury, Arabella decided to go and stay with her instead. At least she would not have to spend the night alone.
The walk to Sophia's room was the quietest one she had ever experienced since she came to the palace. She did not meet anyone on her way there. The usually busy corridors were strangely empty, with most of the palace residents seemingly gathered outside for the run.
When she finally reached Sophia's room, she knocked on the door. There was no response.
Arabella knocked again, but when she still heard nothing from inside, she frowned and pushed the door open.
