Chapter 5 - Chapter 1 ( Part 4 ) Are You Serious?!

"Your Majesty, Sir Grenford has returned, he says he must report something to you urgently." A younger looking female said, kneeling down on one knee. Her face stern yet calm.

She had two horns sticking out of her head, bright white hair accompanied by her pure-white eyes. Her skin was pale and she wore silver armor covering her upper body, arms and legs. Underneath the armor she wore a dark leotard covered by a skirt. A silver pole-axe laid beside her.

In front of her was a fair-skinned young lady, with long curly soft-blue hair, she had two smaller-sized, slightly blue crystal-like horns on her head. She wore a long elegant white dress. Her eyes looked tired or rather emotionless, she was sitting on a throne, accompanied by what seemed to be three maids all of which had horns and some with a lizard-like tail.

"Let him in Nell." She replied

Two Palace sized doors began to open, and from them emerged a tall slender man, his white hair just barely passing his shoulders, four curved horns emerging from his head with his piercing red eyes quickly following. He wore red-shaded robes accompanied by silver and gold armor. A long sword contained by its sheath hung by his side with dragon-like scales covering bits of his arms and face.

"Your Majesty, I am afraid I have some unfortunate news to relay to you." The man said as he walked towards her and kneeled down.

"What is it you must so urgently tell me Grenford?"

"Commander Norvenda… and all 1,000 soldiers that accompanied him have fallen…when I got to the scene it was a blood bath…The soldiers were torn apart, missing limbs and bodies torn in half, most unrecognizable. A truly grotesque and horrid sight. Those savages! However I couldn't locate Commander Norvenda, as I continued to investigate, I noticed a blood trail, the scent recognizable. It had seemed Commander Norvenda had fleen-"

"YOU LIAR! Commander Norvenda would never flee!! I'll kill you where you stand Grenford!!" Nell shouted furiously, her once stern face now infuriated, her eyes glaring at Grenford.

"Nell, enough." The lady sitting on the throne said while lifting her hand up in Nell's direction.

"P…please forgive me My Lady, I lost my temper…but Commander Norvenda would never flee…" Nell replied, tears forming in her eyes now.

"I too, do not think Norvenda would flee, so please let Grenford continue." She points her hand towards Grendford as to signal him to continue.

"Yes Your Majesty, I too, did not think Norvenda would flee… unless.. Unless there was something more important than his own life and pride, something so important that he needed to convey to us even at the cost of fleeing… So I followed the trail as best as I could… That's when I found him… He had escaped to a nearby cliff side-ravine. He was severely injured, I can only assume he was trying to rest and recover before attempting to make it back… but.. they seem to have found him first… His head was crushed by a giant rock… Those savages… They already had what they needed but.." His hand now tightly gripping his sword, rage burning within him.

"Are you saying Commander Norvenda is dead..?" Nell asks, her voice slightly quivering, "how dare they.. it's impossible they could never defeat someone as powerful as him…" her hand now tightly gripping her -axe, magical aura began emitting from her body causing her hair to flow upwards, her face now scrunched in a fuming rage. Tears began to fall from the corners of her eyes.

"I see now… so that explains why I felt his presence dissipate… Very Well… Grenford, Nell. I want you two to take over the investigation squadron. Find out what Norvenda wanted us to know so badly, find the people who killed him, and when you do… I will see to their disposal myself."

The words she spoke did not match the emotions she showed, her face remained tired and emotionless, but she meant every word she spoke. The air around them became sharp, as if at the peak of a freezing mountain.

"Yes Your Majesty!" Both Nell and Grendford reply in unison as they bow down.
