Chapter 35 - A New Bloodline!
Within him, he saw nearly his entire body full to the brim with a shining, much clearer and more powerful golden light, while a faint red light fought just to stay visible. It was like a pebble in the ocean.
Though that was not the only thing he could see. Using Complete Vision, he could see that around his fingertips was a really faint mixture of black and white, like oil in water that refused to mix.
Kai stared at his fingertips and even his legs. Every edge of his body had the same colors, white and black trying to mix.
Kai asked, "Hey system, what's that?"
[Unknown.]
Kai felt worried, but thought that since it did not hurt nor affect him, nothing should happen, right?
Kai sat down cross legged and slowly began trying to sense and move the red substance in his body.
Minutes quickly became hours, hours became a day, and a day became a week.
Finally, Kai's body was drenched in sweat, his stomach growling in hunger, though within his body he could finally control bloodline essence.

Kai's eyes shone with excitement. If only he could leave the academy to hunt beasts.

And yet Kai ignored all of that and kept training.
He was doing the daily quests, though most related to training his body even more, so much so that all of his stats by the end of the first month were 20.
Then, by the middle of the second month, he had achieved a new title.

One day, as Kai woke up, he smelled food once again and saw the daily tasks in front of him as he ate.

Kai stared forward as he ate and realized that today was going to be a very long day for him.
Unlike the older quests he had been doing the past month and a half, these quests would make him much stronger.
Now that his stats were simply magnificent, he was surely much stronger. In fact, he could feel anyone moving around him in a 5 kilometer radius around him. Every step, every breath, all because of his perception.
Kai spoke as he got up.

Seeing his stats from the start of this system, he did not really understand how much it would affect him.
At this point, he was so strong that the bars stopping him from using mana were meaningless, as he could simply bend them and leave.
After all, they were only made with iron etched with runes to stop mana.
But even that was useless before Kai, as his mana control had reached such a level that it evolved.
Kai said, "What was the new skill of Mana Control?"

Kai smirked as he spoke out in a grand manner. Mana around him swirled as a small wind spun inside the cell.
Even though he should not have been able to control mana, he still could, completely disregarding the runes meant only for someone at the Earth level.
While Kai had long passed it into Mid Tier Heaven, his mana pool was also starting to show signs that it could increase again very soon.
So after eating, Kai did not wait at all and began training his Nightfall Arts, finding it surprisingly easy to comprehend in just a few minutes.
After all, his intelligence stat was on another level.

While Kai was still imprisoned, the world had basically already forgotten about him, except for a few people.
In an unknown area of the vast world, a floating island trembled with the power of hundreds of Heaven ranked people.
One of them was clearly enraged.
The person screamed, "Who dared to kill my dear son!"

Yet in the academy, no one cared about the matter anymore.
People moved around to their classes, students rumbling around the academy while talking and sparring.
In one room meant for survival training, Nova sat down writing notes. A ridiculous amount of them.
She was writing literally every single word the professor said.
In another room, Elena was in the Bloodline Control class, not even wasting time writing notes, simply memorizing everything on the spot.
Kai, in another room, was easily learning two Earth rank techniques at the same time with ease and learning how to combine them into his own style of fighting.

Back in the little prison for Kai, if one could see mana they would pass out.
Around Kai's hands and legs was elegant armor lined with spikes.
Each kick and each punch was simply too powerful for any resistance left in the cell.
The runes around him had already exploded long ago, while Kai still moved.
Each kick and each punch became better and stronger every time, while the mana cost became less and less.
Kai felt ecstatic.
His body moved on instinct. His mind was silent for once.
He saw his Strength and Intelligence stats rising, and so did his Speed stat.
His back was already full of sweat.
Finally, after a long 9 hours of training, he received a message.

Kai instantly spoke, his voice haggard from exhaustion.
"Wait. Before you do that. Use Synthesize to combine two skills."
The screen appeared before him in a flash of crimson light, still glitching but much less now.
Kai selected two skills.
The screen flashed green as mana left his body in droves.
His mana already dropped from 2500 to 2000.
