Chapter 33 - When the dead start speaking

The man smirked faintly after saying that, but Falcon paid him no attention whatsoever. His entire focus remained on the contents inside the safe, his gloved hands carefully sorting through the old files one after another while dust particles floated lazily through the streaks of morning light slipping in from the cracked windows nearby.

Most of the documents were old property papers.Bank records.Shipping receipts.

Worthless things.Nothing important.

Nothing useful.

Falcon's expression darkened slightly with every paper he flipped through.

Then.

His fingers suddenly stopped.

There, buried beneath a stack of faded envelopes tied together with aging string, was a thin brown file with no label on the front.

Something about it immediately felt different. Falcon slowly picked it up.The edges were worn out badly as though someone had opened and hidden it repeatedly over the years. He opened it carefully and the very first thing that fell out was another photograph.
