'What the hell is beyond that door…' Ciel felt a new sense of wariness towards the door
"How are you going to get the Void element if that existence is behind the door?"
"You can't just hope for it to not wake up. You're not the only one who would die, after all." Ciel asked
Without opening the Door of Void, she wouldn't be able to use any of her powers.
"I think that the rock helps with it. I don't know how exactly it works since it's your attribute." Rein said, implying he should figure it out
He didn't mind sharing information about his powers, as they shared the same Soul World. She would figure it out eventually anyways.
Trust was an important thing for teammates, and she already trusted him with her powers.
Ciel nodded and picked up the midnight blue rock. He focused his mind on it, letting all the information seep into his mind.
After a few moments, he opened his mouth to explain his attribute to her.
It was called the Stone of Eternity, made of an unknown material called Eternal Stone.
The Stone of Eternity could grow in size in two ways.
The first way was to feed it Spirit Essence. It would grow slowly, but there would always be excess Spirit Essence around if he wasn't in battle.
It could also grow automatically if Ciel was at max Spirit Essence capacity, feeding on it at the same rate it replenished.
The 2nd way for the Stone of Eternity to grow in size was by absorbing Soul Cores or Forsaken Cores.
This way it would gain size in a much faster way, but would need a lot more effort to achieve.
The effects of the Stone of Eternity was that it could block off mental attacks. It could also be separated into multiple parts if needed.
Since it could grow in size, the latter ability would be especially useful in due time.
Ciel didn't know what else the Stone of Eternity could do, but he knew it was by far the toughest material he had ever seen.
'Not really suited for combat… still, it's quite useful and I don't even know what else it can do.' Ciel thought to himself
"It seems that the mental defense it gives can offset whatever attack the existence behind the door can do." He concluded
"So I guess as long as the Stone of Eternity is nearby, it will be relatively safe to open the Door of Void." Rein said
Ciel nodded. Now he had to figure out what his ability was.
"Before you learn your ability, let me explain my attribute and ability properly." Rein stopped him
She seemed quite proud of her abilities. Ciel nodded and allowed her to speak.
She explained how the Void element that seeped through the Door of Void was not pure. It was just an extremely tiny fraction of the pure Void element beyond the door.
As she would grow stronger, the purity of the Void element seeping through the door would grow exponentially.
As for her ability, Void Manipulation, it would cost most of their Spirit Essence just for a few seconds of use.
She could also only infuse it in objects currently, making them exponentially stronger. The downside was, the objects could barely last any time being infused by Void element, and shatter into dust.
She wasn't capable of creating Void spells from a long distance, therefore, her only choice was a melee fight.
This made it more of a trump card. Still, it would be a surprise for the receiving end.
"Another downside is that our Spirit Essence is shared. Therefore, if you use Void element in a battle, I'll also be screwed." He said
Rein gave him an innocent look, forcing him to sigh inwardly.
Then, he focused his mind to figure out his ability.
The ability was called Soul Transfer.
Normally, one wouldn't be able to bring anything to or from the Soul World.
This ability changed that. It allowed Ciel to bring anything he wanted to or from his Soul World, except living beings.
All he had to do was mark whatever he was going to transfer with his Spirit Essence. How much Spirit Essence depended on what the target of the mark was.
After that, he could use Soul Transfer with a thought, but it cost Spirit Essence based on the size of whatever he was transferring.
So he would first need to spend Spirit Essence to mark an object, then use more Spirit Essence for the transfer. Luckily transferring objects took much less Spirit Essence than marking, and marking was permanent.
'These are strong abilities, but I'm lacking in combat.'
'I should mark some weapons so I can use Soul Transfer on them. I can just go to a weapon smith, mark some swords and then transfer them, making them suddenly disappear. No one would know it was me.'
Ciel decided he wasn't going to do something like that, and ruin random people's lives… unless he was really desperate.
Even though he always killed criminals on Prisma, he himself was a criminal.
"It seems like you lack combat abilities. But with my help, you'll have no problems." She said proudly
"Do you know how to use a sword or any other weapon?" He asked
The smile on her face froze.
"That doesn't matter, you can distract the enemies. What matters is the final hit, which will be done by me." She retorted
"Where are you by the way? Are you in one of the quadrants?" She asked
.
The Floren kingdom was divided in a quadrant. Each quadrant was different, focusing on a different aspect of survival.
Each quadrant was also a gate leading out of the Floren kingdom.
The 1st quadrant, Terron Gate, was located in the North and bordered the Crystal Fjords. It was the source of food and farmlands in the Floren kingdom.
The 2nd quadrant, Novan Gate, was located in the East and also partly bordered the Crystal Fjords, along with the Tempest Plains. It was a housing area for the wealthy.
It was also a place for merchants to sell their goods, therefore making it a shopping and entertainment district aswell.
The 3rd quadrant, Valenor Gate, was located in the South, bordering the Emerald Forest. It was the mining quadrant, producing the stone materials used everywhere in the Floren kingdom.
The 4th quadrant, Graycell Gate, was located in the West, also bordering the Emerald Forest. It was a military and education quadrant, training people how to survive against the Forsakened.
The 1st and 2nd quadrant were separated from the 3rd and 4th quadrant by the Pearl River.
The Pearl River origins were unknown, but it ended in the East, converging with the Great Azure Sea.
In the center of the quadrants stood the Avadonn Palace, the place where the Royal family lived.
.
"No, I'm on the outskirts of Floren, in a small village called Arrow."
"Huh. That's also where I am. We might have just been transported close together."
'Hopefully there are no cosmic entities pulling some strings.' She thought inwardly
As someone from Earth, she had read many stories. She brought along quite a few ideas from there.
She could only think of what was happening to her right now as a story or game.
It was the only way for her to cope with what happened on Earth.
She was just a regular university student yesterday, with a loving family.
Then, everything she knew, everything she loved, absolutely everything was just gone without a trace.
All she could do was smile and act like her previous life was an illusion.
Ciel could see through this facade, as his little sister started acting the same way back on Prisma.
He didn't know what to do or how to help her.
'Humans are too complicated… if she continues like this, she'll eventually reach a breaking point.'
'Or maybe I'm just crazy to be somewhat sane right now.' Ciel sighed inwardly
He could feel a slight bit of powerlessness again. He was never good with social interactions or anything alike.
'Why do I even care so much about her? We just met a few minutes ago. It's probably because she's in the same situation as me. I should find a way to help her out a little.' He thought
"How about we meet tomorrow morning and decide what to do then? It's getting pretty late in the physical world, so you should get some rest." Ciel said
"Yeah, thanks. We'll meet again tomorrow." She replied with a smile
Then, they both left the Soul World.
Ciel returned to his physical body, which had been vulnerable up to this point.
'I hope there's a way to keep the physical body safe when I get stronger. Otherwise entering the Soul World could be detrimental.' He thought
Ciel looked around the room and confirmed no one was there. His pessimism was a souvenir that came from Prisma.
'This is just the beginning of this new life of mine… I can't afford to slack off, especially in a world with magical abilities.'
'Hopefully Rein can adapt quickly. Otherwise, I'll have to somehow help her out.'
Another reason he had to protect her was because their Soul Worlds were linked. He didn't know what would happen if one of them died.
He got on the bed with his current attire. He didn't have any night clothes in this world. After closing his eyes, he slowly fell asleep.
